Good work man. Congrats on the downpipes, should make a big difference over stock.

One thought, any chance there's a rag somewhere in your system? Its a common issue that people forget about them. You could take off your pipes from up top going into the turbos to be sure. Could also check at your intercoolers, etc.

This will be my next step and checking that the throttle bodies are opening and closing at the same time. One might be a little open. We will see.

Thanks for the input. I'll get this figured out sooner than later hopefully

I just want to report back as this might be helpful to others with similar problem.

Car has been parked over winter and I have been tinkering and trying to find the damn leak. Over the winter I decided to get some new Godspeed SMIC. Installed them today and checked all the vacuum lines I could fine.

Short story, I bypassed the carbon canister that was sitting behind the driver side intercooler and removed any tees I have for vacuum lines.

As soon as I started the car, vacuum sat at 18 in Hg! Carbon canister was probably leaking. Old IC pressure test showed no leak.

I set the timing to 15 degrees and now I'm at 19 in Hg. :toast:

Now I'm itching to drive it. Should be a blast. Almost sold her but now she's a keeper.

Hope this helps somebody else in the future.

Very interesting solution, I went through everything you did and could only conclude a turbo was seized...and was the case upon repairs.
BTW, the test you used to run her at higher RPM and pull a boost hose to test the turbo operation is the only known test of them on the car and their true operation/not, so good job with that.
Good Luck in the future, glad you are back to enjoying your Z! :dblthumb:

Congrats man. My carbon cannister had a crack in the top and was leaking as well. However, we found it doing a boost leak test. I eventually did a full delete all the way back to the fuel tank to clean things up a little more.
