Hey guys I've been thinking about boosting my 2010 b16 spec. The thing Is, is that I have 160,000 km's on it (100,000 miles) and had no problems with the engine so far. I have been doing my research on putting a turbo on and the consquences you have to deal with also getting a compression test done next week to see if my engine is capable. I just wanted to see if anyone else has boosted their car with high mileage or if its better to build the engine for boost! I'm looking into buying the Treadstone kit and my goals are to achieve 280 horses on lower boost, nothing ridiculous and one more thing its my DD. Comments and insults are welcome!

Bolting on a turbo is changing a lot about the engine and how it handles what's being given to it. It's a good way to blow seals, ect. I'd err on the side of caution and build for the task, even possibly lowering compression for the possibility of running higher boost and higher total CFM.

However, I'd highly caution against doing a boosted setup on a car not built for it that you are using as a DD.

Yeah I kind of figured I would get this kind of response. I was going to get lower comp pistons with forged rods and new gaskets bearings and a really good tune but still up in the works because as mentioned it is my DD but would be hella fun to do!

I'd never advise doing major mods like this to a DD but to each his own. Be sure to keep us updated as you move forward.
