blowby probs

hey, i have a 95 240

car is butt slow wth header and exhaust. i THINK the prob is a vac leak somewhere but i think i have bigger probs

seams i have MASSIVE blowby, the car was idling and my friend took the oil cap off and the car nearly died. the oil wreaks of gas. but the car doesnt burn any oil to my knowledge. no blue smoke. the car runs a bit rich as well.

Run it on a dyno to see what numbers it pulls. Maybe you have a high standard of what our cars should run? If everything checks out, take it for a tune up I suppose.

As for the blowby, that sort of sounds serious. I'm not a pro tech, but if there's gas in your oil mixture, I'd get it looked at ASAP.

Gas in your oil will brake down the oil too. so you should realy get that looked at.

what color/consistancy is the oil?is there a noticable ammount of gas on the dip stick?

have you changed the oil recently?

do a compression test and see.

for the vaccum leak, buy a can of carb cleaner and spray it all over your engine while it's running. if you have a leak your engine will rev up or down/up and down. then you'll know.

i caught the blowby too late and the oil was shot, im getting a very faint rod knock already and when i pulled the oil cap off it wreaked of gas instantly. so its pretty bad

sounds like you've maybe lost a ring seal arround the piston base/head.
