Hi everyone I just recently did a ka24de swap on my car I put the engine in connected everything that needed to be connected except for a few minor things that I forgot. well it started up and run it for a while all of sudden last week the car started blowing out black smoke, i took the spark plugs out to check them out and they were black as well. I also ran it for about 10 min around town and all of sudden it felt like it was losing power. I dont know whats going on, someone told me that the compression is low. can someone please help I really appreciate it.

probbaly a sensor went done on you. sounds like the cars dumping fuel like mad. very rich conditions will cause power loss as well. whats youre mileage? you can test compression with a tester down the sparkplug hole. i would look at wiring, sensors, fpr maybe or computer.
as svo motor o had once started doing the SAME thing, i couldnt figure it out, no one else could either...i mean it would DUMP fuel right out the damn tail pipes...black as a coal fire. turned out to be 1 little sensor. what a pita.
good luck to you dude.

It is dumping fuel in the car. I would connect everything that you forgot, btw what do you mean little things? Its likely that maybe a sensor or something simple in the manifold is not connected or working right. Was it a motor from the same generation? Also did you use whatever was on there or did you move everything over from the old block?

the engine i think has some where around 150000 to 160000 miles and by the little things i mean i forgot to connect my heater hose, ac, and something else not really needed for the car to run and yes it is dumping fuel. and i used parts from both because the engine i had bought did not come complete with everything. well i try to check the sensors thanks i really appreciate everyones help.
