Isaw that the versaspeed site has one available, but it's not painted in the black color and I can't really afford a lot to get this done.

I had my grille done up by myself a long time ago and the paint is already chipping off even after all the coats and clearcoat I did to it.

I was looking t the ones they have on Ebay for the chrome ones: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

It looks like mostly positive feedback. Anyone ever gotten something like this before? I want it to look good, but not bend easy or have any chrome wear off. Looks nice and as long as it functions good and know it will arrive the way it looks from the photos I might spring for it.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Yup, that's the one I have alright. As far as durability - it's holding up really well. It does bend easily, and I find myself re-aligning the edges every now and then with my fingers (usually every 4 or 5 weeks I'll spend no more than a few minutes straightning it out). The chrome has not worn out at all... still looks good and shiny.

If you're going to buy this grille, I recommend that you also buy the lower insert for the bottom part of the bumper. You can check the seller's other items and he usually sells the pair for around $120. It really sets off the look, and I think it would look weird with only the upper part (notice how the pic shows both the upper and lower grilles)

i had one on my sentra, it was alright. but if you hold out a few months, the prices on the grilles should drop considerably. i bought mine for around $65 for upper only, then 6-9 months later, it was available for only $25.

oh, and i did buy mine from those guys you listed. the grille i received from them was good quality, the billet "slats" (idk what to call 'em) were rigid and there was a decent amount of support behind them to keep 'em straight. the clear powdercoat did get minor chipping from use, but nothing different from any other grille.

Mine is powdercoated black so the face jumps out at you, but I don't think the face is coated clear. It looks to me like they powdercoated the whole grille and then polished the powdercoating off of the front, or possibly masked off the front and did the black everywhere else.

Sure does make that face jump out like you said though. As far as price, I doubt it'll come down that much. This grille has been available since I brought my car home (July '07) and it hasn't gone down at all.

oops!

maybe it might be a little longer for the price to drop. i think they price 'em according to how popular the car is. not that a 00-06 sentra is a popular car, but it is more so than our beloved versa.

my brother had bought a billet grille from the same guys within a couple weeks for his 98 explorer (grille was about the same size and close in shape to the sentra one) for only $25.

i guess volume has something to do with it. that and there's plenty of different sellers hawking the billets for trucks. billets on cars seem to be a "love it or hate it" styling choice. hooray for free market economy, long live supply and demand!
