When I bought my car, I only had Three keys. Two (Datsun branded) for the T-Tops and One (ilco key, not original) for the ignition, doors and hatch. However, It didn't lock the glove box(I'm pretty sure it could be locked, or if I'm wrong please tell me.). Since there would be a total of Three keys (Main, Valet and T-Tops) if I were to buy it 23 years ago new. Is there any way to get keys made or get the valet key, since the main and valet are different. What are the differences anyway?

I plan on getting z32 blank keys(Primary and Valet) made because the Ilco is lame.

Ok, if any of that does not make sense, please let me know. Thanks!

your glove box or lock could have been changed, a small tab on the back of the lock is a fairly common failure point, or the key is worn or the cylinder is worn or the replacement key is just not as accurate as it should be

most likley the T tops have been changed, if you take your car to a locksmith they can cut you a new key fomr the vin or keycode, they can also rekey the cylinders in your t tops so you have one key as you should

If the glovebox is the original, then it will have the key code written on the inside.

Yeah, sorry I should have said that the two T-Top keys were the same. I should have noted that.

So, If I go to a locksmith I can get both a Primary key AND a Valet key made. Just confirming that, I will head to a locksmith tomorrow. That's pretty cool that keys could be made without the originals. I plan on getting Z32 blanks made too. Thanks a lot!

I woudl assume they can make a valet key as well, I've never really cares to have a key that only works part of the car

yeah I had to replace my glove box lock because it fell apart so I have a key for that and it's huge. I hate having 3 different keys now.
