since i've been lurking this subforum more and more often, i figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to introduce myself in here. as you all can see, i've been around nico for some time now. i've owned nothing but nissans. i drove an f-150 as a dd for a while, but that wasn't mine, it was given to me by my boss and it's now serving serious work duties as opposed to just carting my a** to and from the office. so now, 2 s13's and a b14 later, i find myself the owner of a clean s14, and the newest addition, a 74 260z. i've wanted a datsun for some time now, and i spent my lunch break every day cruising craigslist for something in decent shape for a price i could manage. no dimes in the area, a few over priced z's, and all the b210's were 80's models (i hate 80's era cars). after some time i had just stopped looking. not intentionally, like i was giving up hope, just kind of "took a break". then one night a fellow nico member from rhode island calls me up to tell me about this 260z he saw on craigslist. turns out this car is up for sale in the same town that i live in (i found out later it was in someone's garage less than 2 miles from my house). here's how it all went down...

-got the call from nico member on a thursday night.-i called friday around noon, got no answer so i left a message.-didn't hear anything until around noon saturday, so i call again. this time they answer but told me that someone was going to look at it that afternoon and that they would call me back if that person declined.-i get a call a few hours later saying the the looker left to get a trailer and would be back for the car.-sunday, as i was on break from mowing my lawn, my phone rings. i answer and it's the seller of the car. she told me that the dude from the previous day flaked and asked if i was still interested. of course i was, so we set up a time for monday after work to see it.-the car checked out bondo-wise and just needs a couple small sections of the floor pans patched. engine runs fine and strong, but i'm going to rebuild it anyways. s***ty respray, but again, i'll be doing something different, so that didn't matter to me.

as it is right now, it's sitting in my father's garage. all the rear brake components have been replaced with new stuff. the front brake components still need to be replaced. we brought it there because my s14 occupies one side of my garage, and the other side is just full of crap. also, because only the front passenger corner saw any braking power, we wouldn't be able to even get it stopped in my driveway because of the slope. it was actually an interesting ride getting it to my father's house with almost zero braking power lol. this week, my s14 will be done with the z32 brake upgrade so i can get that out of the garage, and as soon as i get the front brakes done on the 260, i can bring it home to start some body work and pull the engine. i plan on staying with the l26 and have been looking into a weber setup for some time now. eh, that should be enough of my rambling for now lol. here are the pics from teh day i brought her home

congrats, the S30 can be addictive, you'll want to get rid of some of those other cars to make room for more S30's

it was originally green. there's overspray on the chrome around the windows and the paint just looks bad up close. but for the most part, the car is soild so i'll deal with it for the time being. i can't wait for teh drive back to my house to get a feel for how it performs in stock form before i really start taking it apart.
