I ended up with Michelin Pilot sports...and I went with 255 all around. Much quieter...but I think they guys have too little air pressure in them at 34. I think before i was running close to 38. They seem a little soft to me. But overall much improved.

About to put the same on my Q70L and was wondering if you are still happy with the decision after 30+ days of driving.

Use Continental DWS and DWS 06 on a Mercedes and my previous '03 M45...low noise, plenty of grip; here in Florida...and they wear like iron. Will use them on the '12 M56S.

I was really hoping to move towards the Conti DW's but was advised they are soon to be discontinued. Also, the DW's performance wise would be on par with my S-04's but wouldn't improve much with treadlife which was expected. S-04's were incredible but I really need my tires to make it past 20K before replacement.

So far so good. Priced right (discount tire) and the reviews have been pretty good. I'll check back in with an update after i get some miles logged.
So.... how are they ? :rotfl

Continental ExtremeContact DWS - Their new one out now is the "DWS06", I too am looking for an all season tire and the reviews are very good on the new and improved DWS06. Here is a review on a couple of tires from tirerack.

June 10, 2016

Tires Tested
Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 (Ultra High Performance All-Season, 245/40R18 97Y) •What We Liked: Good on-road manners, proven light snow traction.
•What We'd Improve: Steering is a little sluggish for the category, some tread growl, ride not as forgiving as the steering would imply.
•Conclusion: A strong offering that wrote the formula for success, but is now in danger of being beaten at its own game.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (W- or Y-Speed Rated) (Ultra High Performance All-Season, 245/40R18 97Y) •What We Liked: Sharp steering response, best-in-test dry performance and impressive wet grip.
•What We'd Improve: Firm ride borders on harsh
•Conclusion: Performs at a high level everywhere, with an emphasis on "sport."

Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus (Ultra High Performance All-Season, 245/40R18 97Y) •What We Liked: Delivers "just right" performance in all categories.
•What We'd Improve: We would take more ultimate dry grip if it didn't detract from other areas.
•Conclusion: This could be the new benchmark for the Ultra High Performance All-Season category.

ive run the hankook ventus V12 evo 2 on this car and my G35 and its a pretty good all around tire. of course the pilot sports are going to be a better tire but they are also more expensive.

I had a set of Hancook's Ventus V12 evo 2's on my G37S and I did like them, will need to check into the Pirelli's.

After searching the internet for reviews on UHP All Season tires, I just purchased a set of the 245/40/20 Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06, they will be installed in the AM.

I've had my M56S for 3.5 years and have had three sets of tires, a few things about each.

DUNLOP SP SPORT MAXX GT - 245/40-20
Loud when rolling, loud crashes, expansion joints were quite noticeable. Grip limit was less than I would expect from a Summer Performance tire, poor wet traction but I assume this is because they were mostly worn. At the time I bought the car, they had about ~5k of life left (5 months) and they were around $400 each. I passed.

BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE970AS POLE POSITION - 255/35-20
Used these tires on my M45S and they lasted almost 50k on that car and were just as good. They lasted ~42k on the M56S - impressive that a $220 tire lasted that long considering its performance. This is the first tire I recommend to anyone that wants an All Season Performance tire. On the highway they are buttery smooth, imperceivable rolling noise, actually works in the snow, no hydro-planing, and impressive grip for an All Season. Will buy again.

MICHELIN PILOT SUPER SPORT - 255/35-20
Picked these up in May of this year, just had to replace one of them because of a nail through the sidewall. I am happy so far with everything but the price ($280), we'll see how bad of a winter Texas has because the car is staying in the garage if it snows/ices over. Noticeable rolling noise but not intrusive, smooth over expansion joints and crashes, less impressive than the 970AS (shocker) in heavy rain, great performance in dry and light rain. If they last more than 20k, I may buy again. Noticeably more brake dust.

Just get the 245's on all four corners for stock OEM wheels. My setup is staggered hence the fat rear tires...

i have had Michelin pilot PS4s on mine for around 10k miles and they still look great. supposed to have 30k treadwear warranty. the upgrade in grip with these is just amazing. turn in is more immediate and i cannot get it to lose grip or activate traction control if its dry out.

You shouldn't go wrong with any of the brands mentioned above.
I did the continental dws06 275/35/20 they fit great on the factory sport wheels.
Only had them on for one season due to my accident two weeks ago.
But they were great

Hi, you went 275/35/20 all around on the factory sport wheels? I’m lowered on coils, would that impact the width I can go? I’m thinking of 275/40/20. Wouldn’t 35 aspect ratio make the wheel a tiny bit smaller in the wheel well?

Is 275 the widest tire that can fit the factory sport 20s? Thanks

I never lowered my car so I can't really speak to that
40 would give you a taller sidewall which I don't think you want.
I did that size thinking about lowering my car but never did it. The idea that I heard it's that the lowering of the car sucks in the wheels under the car. Some even do spacers with the wider tires.
The factory wheels are very tucked into the wheel well without any spacers so I think you should be just fine.
I'm sure more people will respond to this post.

I loved the way the car looked with the wider tires.

My son fit my stock sport wheels with the 275/35/20 on his 2015 Q50S and fit perfect on the car.
Looks amazing too.

I wouldn't go wider than 275 on the 9" wheels

Thanks for the info! Forgot to mention I’m running the stock tires 245/40/20 with the sport wheels AND 25mm spacers ho front and 30mm rear and it’s sitting flush. Just looking to go wider tires and hoping 275 will fit.

Have them do a trial for for your car
I know they fit on the wheels
I also had 1" spacers on my car with the stock suspension.
It did poke a bit but I was OK
Have it a good stance.

did running those require the use of any spacers? I'd love to run that size on my '11 M37S with the stock 20" wheels when I need new tires this fall.

Hey everyone. Anyone know if I can run 275 40 20 on stock suspension Without rubbing?
I see people running 275 35 20 just wondering if I can keep my 40 sidewall.

What were your experience with the 275 40 20..

Thanks everyone

About a month ago, I pulled the trigger on the Conti DWS 06+ in 275-35-20.

My stock Bridgestones barely made it 25K. They became noisy, tramlining was awful & at the end, I was adding air in one of the four tires weekly.

So far so good. They’re noticeably quieter, although that wasn’t hard to do lol. The ride seems less harsh, but I wouldn’t call it softer, if that makes sense. I’ve only been in the rain once, and it was during rush hour, so I can’t give a subjective perspective there.

I’ll try to remember to update my review after the winter and a few more miles.
