The gains you're going to get from cams is not worth the price of install unless you have your heads ported and have some way to tune the car like a UTEC at the minimum. You'll also need springs and retainers like Ferrea or JWT depending on how high you will rev the motor. A 5 angle valve job might be nice too. Or you can get a set of Cosworth heads for about $3800 and a set of Tomei 282 cams. Your already at $5000 without labor to install it. the HP gains will be smal lfor that money.

I dunno, I find ITB's to be sooo sexy. Pain in the arse to tune though

Back on topic...... if have the money to spend on cams and head work, why not just go F/I? After that, then you'll see gains with cams.

ITB's are not gonna get you very much hp gains, only a better throttle response. The best bang for your buck is still in F/I...Or nitrous if you're broke and you hate your car.

really?! where?

if I could keep the stock hood I would go for that! I am looking to stay N/A and 30whp is HARD to get!

please give me a link or some hard numbers. I e-mailed the site selling the ITBs and got no answer on gains.

I also heard that the nismo cai for the de produced 5.5 whp...well that's horse****...sucks that i bought one. Plus, $100/hp is a lot more costlier than if you go F/I.

F/I. If you want real power for the money.

If you just want like 30 hp. Get a good exhaust, a nice intake and some Underdrive pulleys. Thats like 1-2.5k Depending on which way you go.

JWT are the best for the 2006. However, unless your doing all the bolt ons and tuning it, save the $$$$ on Cams on a N/A car.

Central 20 cams, best cams for the Z for the money........only problem is they are very expensive to ship since they are JDM, and can only be purchased from Japan distributors. At least that was thecase whn i bought mine.

Of the limited people I know that have cams... most have the JWT S2 cams. They keep the lope to a minimum have have added decent power with a good tune.

come to think of it, i wouldn't mind a stock "///M powered 350z" although those have are nothing like a VQ,

and I cant afford the excess 100k you would have to dump into the car in order to have it running safely,
