Cold weather does that. Mine is worse if my heat/lights are on right when I start the car cold, so I'm assuming it's the accessory belt.

...WD-40, huh?

LOL, when these belts slip it is loud as hell!

I think you belts are getting worn. They also have to be super tight. I'd not use wd-40. I would replace them if they are older, or just tighten them some more if you think they have some life.

A couple years ago I chased this belt problem for several months. I replaced the belts, alternator, and idler pulley before I decided to tighten the belts to what I thought was the point of snapping. Since then, no problems at all. If you do a search you will find that the squealing belt problem is kind of common, and the amount of tension defies logic.

Good Luck

I agree ..They have to be uber tight ..And if they have squealed for awhile they are probably glazed and need to be replaced.

Oil on a belt will make it deteriorate, and WD40 is just some very light oil, so I wouldn't spray that on your belts. Try tightening them up first. If that doesn't work then you have to replace them. The air conditioner belt is a piece of cake. The other two are a *****.
