92 240SX KA24DE stock... driving home yesterday and it smelled like rotten eggs bad, popped my hood and my battery is spewling out acid and its putting out 15.80 volts?????

how do i fix this i have never heard of the battery overcharging. unplugged wire maybe. are 240's known for this? my dad said corvettes are but he has no clue about foreign.

any help would be great because im now missing out on work! thanks guys

car running and getting 15.8v is high, voltage regulator in the alternator might be bad or a diode.

it was the alternator:) it got stuck on full charge some how... jumped to 24volts lucky i didnt fry my ecu. so $260 later i have a working car:) thanx guys for the replies!
