If I don't drive for 5 days, battery goes dead. Its a new battery. Mechanic says battery is good, but car must be driven more frequently. Any thoughts?

Did you test the individual cells on the battery to determine if they are accepting a full charge?
Did you check the date code on the battery when you purchased it?
It is not unusual for a new battery to be defective.
What is the alternator voltage across the battery with the engine running?

It could be a bad vent control valve. There was a TSB out about it. ITB-09-062
