Hey guys, I'm relocating my battery in my s13 cause it's all rusted underneath and the metals getting weak, plus I autox/drift/track it so I figured I might as well. I got a great deal on an Optima red top, and my main question is can I just connect the POS wire right to the original terminal location, meaning not using a distribution block? I have no additional electronics to hook up.

Also, 2Ga wire is fine right? Or should I use 0? And am I correct that I can just run the batt. ground to the chassis as long as I have the engine well grounded to the chassis?

Thanks guys!

yeah you can run the ground to the chassis as long as everything is grounded well ground is ground but to be honest i havent ever relocated a battery before so i dont wanna give out any advice without actual experience but i dont know why you would need a distribution block and if your using the same gauge or bigger than factory i cant see why that would pose a problem either but worry not my friend there are a thousand guys on here with the right answer and im sure someone will post it sonn haha :dblthumb:

i used 4awg on my relocation but there are basically no electronics in my car. you can hook the pos right up to the existing wire, i crimped and soldered ring terminals on the factory power wire and the new power wire, i thn just bolted them toghet and shrink wrapped the s*** out of it. as for ground, just make sure you bolt it to bare metal and you will be good to go. dont forget to tie the battery itself down, not just the box. a battery that can move will short out faster.

Depends on the wire type. What is the wire time and temp rating in C. you need to carry 85 amps S13 and 100 on the S14
