Bad wastegate?

I am having all kinds of trouble lately... Been searching for 2 days to try to find a problem similar to mine but no luck.

I bought a 95 240 from a guy and i put a boost gauge on it and it is running at least 15 PSI on stock injectors. It has a walbro 255 fuel pump but no boost gauge. How could it be running higher than stock boost? I thought the stock waste gate cuts it off at like 7-10?

Also its running like it has a boost leak now, gets pretty shaky when i start to build boost and just doesnt feel like it has the same power. Under no boost engine runs fine. Also in 5th gear it seems to be able to boost just fine... I am so lost can anyone give me any insight? Im going to boost leak test it when I get some time.

When the turbo is spooling up, it kind of sounds like an exhaust leak or something, bsically some kind of noise coming from the turbo that i cant figure out.

I feel your pain, I have a 200 with a sr20det that's doing the exact same thing. If you figure anything out shoot me a message please. I'll do the same for you. ~lumpy

what ecu? does it have stock fuel cut off? it seems that you are experiencing fuel cut on boost. what voltage output you get from air flow meter on boost?also it can be heavy boost leak - check your system for leaks.15psi on walbro should not be a problem if everything else is fine.

Mine was the wastegate actuator.
