Alright, one more guys. This noise from my car has still been haunting me, which is a humming/rattling noise coming from the passenger floor board area. I thought it was a splash shield, but the noise returned and i've had two different mechanics look at it now. My current mechanic has looked at it twice and can't find anything wrong... he says the struts, strut bearings, wheel bearings, exhaust system, motor mounts and everything seem fine. So after more research, I think I finally ran into a thread on the internet that described a very similar issue, which is caused by the exhaust gussets cracking over time. Apparently they cause this same issue i've been having, but it's nothing i've heard of before... Has anyone else had any experience with these going bad? Apparently they're a cheap part to fix, but it looks as if the dealership has to replace them.

Don't know if you've seen this, but this is a link to the PDF on it (will start downloading it right away so don't be skered) Shows how to look and see if yours are broken. Probably the best place to start.

I think you just helped me solve the issue that's been haunting me for months. I'll crawl under it tomorrow and find out, but this seems like it is the exact problem and I've never seen it before now either. Thanks man!

Your welcome. Now I need to see if my issue on my 03 might might be something similar. I'd say time for headers if I didn't live in CA.

I have spent months trying to track down this noise, so i'm crossing my fingers that this will fix it. I have come very close to dumping the car a few times because of it, i'm very OCD about noises I can't track down :squint:

I just had one pre-cat replaced last year, so i'm not buying headers yet. If another one goes out though it's getting a set.

Well I crawled under the car finally this afternoon and sure enough, there was a crack all the way through it. I guess i'll look at getting it taken care of next week and hopefully this will FINALLY solve the issue.
