My Z has been slow to start, as if it isn't getting enough fuel (infrequently). Then once it starts idles a bit rough (almost knocks), on acceleration, looses power around 3k RPM's and struggles to accelerate. If I rev the engine in neutral, there is a series of small backfires followed by a single big shot. I am thinking it could be the fuel filter. But looking for someone a bit more knowledgeable in the area.

Please help.

Thanks!

Probably not the filter with that serious of problems, but it's never a bad idea to change it.

First step is to pull ECU codes. http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/nissan ... ostic.html

Ok. Thanks! Not excited about the possibility of larger issues, but I definitely appreciate the response.

Will post more as I get more info!

Delayed update. Changed out the Fuel Filter, then ran the car... still same issues. Checked the ECU codes, my Detonation Sensor Circuit has gone bad. More to follow! Thanks for the link.
