B16 Tail lights not working and interior lights _HELP ASAP

Hey you all my tail lights are not coming on but my signals, brake and reverse all work. Also my ac/heat lights by the dash do not work along with the light that illuminates the gear selection (P_R_N_D_L).. I have an aftermarket radio (Double din) which was the newest add on.

PLEASE HELP ASAP!!

Disconnect the illumination wire from the radio harness. The is the usual culprit.

Also check your fuses.

What wires were tapped for 12V constant and 12V switched?

Ill have to look I had it professionally done to avoid these issues. but i checked the inside fuses. not the underhood ones. any clue if those have the tails on them? thanks for the quick reply

hrmmm. I dont know the fuses boxes off the top of my head. The one in the engine compartment is hard to access. I recommend bringing it back to the installer. He screwed something up.

haha ya but if its just a fuse then i can fix that and avoid driving 25miles haha.. but if its not them then i will have too. i doubt nissan will cover it under warrenty. ugh i hate having a new car haha.. (sometimes) haha

the problem is, your taillights are a different circuit then your radio, which is a different circuit then your shifter lights. The taillight fuse is in the box under the hood, should be a 10 or 15 amp fuse.

so i looked to day at really all my fuses. the underhood ones included and none looked blown.. Is there any possible wires that run from the shift knob area under my cup holders/ center console, to the rear and to the ac/heating knobs?

is there a wiring diagram that would show the whole car and what is where?

nvr mind, i can think of 1 thing that could do it. The installer tapped the shift lock wire for power. he prob thought it was for the cig lighter.

If he tapped the power wire for the Shift lock, that would explain your brake lights, shifter indicator lights. The A/C controls are a switched 12V supply, that is the other wire need to be used for installing the radio. He tapped a 5 amp circuit. Not only the wrong one, but sure as hell not a good one. Thats all i can think of at the moment.

Is your dimmer switch on the gauge cluster working?

ya my dimmer switch is working along with the cluster...

i found the fuse it was blowen..so i replaced it and it blew again. im now disconnecting all the things not working till it wont blow.

Hmm..ill have to look.. but i did find a blown fuse. it was under the hood didnt know that one was there lol.. but i replaced it and it blew again.. guy said it was a bad ground in the trunk..

ive been talking with my dad and he said to disconnect all the trunk wires and trouble shoot. so here i go lol..but ill have to see if he tapped the wrong wires.

thanks you all..looks like the ac/heat harness was the culprit.. i unplugged it and pushed it in more and no blown fuses and ALL my lights work.
