I've had my 98 200sx over a year now and the suspension has always been a piece of crap. I replaced the struts right away but it didn't help that much. I thought it was just the way life was.

Well, now I've been having PS problems (cold start not working). I was taking a good look around the front end to see where it might be leaking at and found out all the ball joints are blown out. (Also seems that it's leaking from the PS pump which I'm going to rebuild ) (Plus the power steering boot is torn but that's not a biggie I've got the kit coming)

I don't know a whole lot about suspensions so I did alot of research. According to the Nissan reference I have, I should have a anti-sway bar on the front end, but I don't .

So, this Friday I'll be rebuilding my PS pump and putting on new tie rod ends and new A arms. (Cause I'm lazy and didn't want to mess around with pressing ball joints into the old ones. plus it comes with all new rubber so that is a plus)

I also ordered a sway bar I couldn't find a stock one so I got an ST ( it too should come with all new rubber) I'm not sure it'll be here by Friday for the fun though. I'm hoping all this will solve my crappy suspension problems along with my cold start power steering problem.

I am a little worried about the ball joints smashing open or any other problems that might come up. If any one has any helpfull hints or suggestions I would love to hear them.

P.S. I'll try to get some pics as the project moves along

well I was I didn't get the tie rods and PS rebuild kit in time. I got of work early yesterday and got the new arms and sway bar on. I was gunnna take pics but my camera is broken. Sorry

I've never taken a ball joint off before. What a pain in the butt! The first one took me like an hour to get the knack of things. Second one took like 10 min. After that things went on pretty smoothly. Put the sway bar on then dropped it down and torqued all the bolts to spec.

Man what a difference the sway bar makes!

I'm still getting the noise when I hit bumps. I was looking at the trouble shooting guide and it pointed more towards the CV joints making noise. After I to the steering stuff gets put on next week we'll know for sure, but I was talking to my brother this morning and he said the noise is text book for CV joints. Oh well for 130k this stuff is all do.

Any helpful hints on changing the axles would be appreciated.
