I had the pioneer avic-d3 professionally instaled and the tech was unable to bypass it. The tech was extrmely knowledgeable but he couldnt get it to work. He connected everything and we took the car for a spin and the navi triangle would just not move (all satilites were present) he reset it a couple of times we drove around and waited and still nothing. Finally he just snipped the yellow mute wire and it started working but obviously not the bypass. I know someone on this forum had this issue i couldnt find which topic it was in. If anyone could give me some suggestions it would be appreciated.

Nick, we spoke last night right... in any case, its hard for me to troubleshoot it without being there. I would have to phisically be there to see the setup. I believe you when you say he did it correctly, but I've never heard of the problem that you're having... wish I could be of more help.. lemme think about it somemore today, and see if I can figure it out... gotta head to the lab now, but I'll be back on later!

Hey whats up, i spoke to the installer and he told me that he snipped the yellow mute wire and then the navi was able to work correctly. Currently the PB wire is ground and i dont know what he did with the mute wire other then it is snipped. I do get the PB message because the mute wire isnt grounded anymore.

Nick, here's the tutorial from avic411.com...

http://www.avic411.com/D3Bypass/album0.html

this has worked 100% of the time that it has been done correctly... my guess is that something was not done to 100% completion... did you rotate the metal tab on the black/yellow mute wire, and did you hear it click when you installed the wire? Another question, and no offense, but did you make sure you put it in the correct hole... (no pun intended)

I was supposed to be in Baltimore in January, but never made it up there, but I will DEFINATELY be in New York for 5 days (March 19th - 23rd). In an ycase, I'm staying at the Marriot Marquis Time Square

So, if you will be in "The City" at any point during that time, and want to swing by, I'm sure I can fix it for you and get rid of that parking brake wire message! Just let me know!

Thanks for all your help, I am bringing it back to the installer on Sat for him to change the bass remote because the one that came with the amp didn't work and I asked him to make one more attempt. If it does not work I will let you know on saturday and make arrangements to meet up at your convenience when you are in NY.
