im interested in doing a turbo install, being i dont have time or $$ to do an SR swap, plus i like my KA. i know nothing about turbos except that they spin up from exhaust, they need an oil line, and i need a new ex. manifold. i dont want to getto rig this, cuz that ususally cost me more $$ (in the end) what is involved with the install? what parts do i need, how much can i do myself, how much has to be bought. and finally how much average $$? ive done searches in the forum and i find specific part install questions, but i want the whole answer.

if you can send me some links, threads, pages.. whatever, any info helps

heres my setup:

'91 240SX LEKA24DEK&N cone, largest one. 8.8mm plug wiresNGK Iridium IX plugspolished throttle body4 gauge battery cable(starting dec 19th: TIME) :ylsuper Removed AIVnew clutch, new hydraulic system toohead gasket, intake gasket (about 10k on each)

thanks in advance

a kit would be your best option, however they are expensive. if i were you i would search on here and learn as much about turbos as you can and about putting one together. the more you know about them and the more you can do yourself, the cheaper it will be for you. you can spend anywhere from $500 to $5000. it just depends. peicing it together and building it yourself is the cheapest way. try to get some used parts do all the piping yourself to save $.

there is a stickey on this very page called TURBO FAQ that has the exact question "WHAT DO I NEED TO INSTALL A TURBO ON MY KA." the beginnings of your answer are there, but dont start buying parts just yet: I can tell you're on the wrong track already. First of all, the KA-T is NOT less time consuming or necessairly cheaper than the SR. Dont pick this route because of those options, because you'll find out in the end that the KA-T CAN be a nightmare. Daniel240 is right. Learn as much as you can about turbocharging before you make any decisions, be it which route your going to go or what parts you need to buy.

save some money, make your own oil feed lines for 30 bucks and use a supra IC core, they cool better and they don't have the tiny inlets of the starion core. plus they are cheaper.Use a DSM bov or a nissan recirculating valve. 200 bucks is a waste IMO.used 35mm tial's go for closer to 120-150, for 200 you could get a new 38. for less you could get a "stone mountain racing" but I don't know if those suck or not and wastegates are important.
