Dues are $20/yr. $10 from that goes to the SAE international collegiate (to become an SAE member), and the other $10 gets thrown into the A&M SAE pot.RBbugBITme wrote:Gotcha. How much are your dues if you don't mind me asking. We don't have dues and I think we should to get rid of some of the people that take on jobs and don't care enough to get them done when they say they will. Do the dues go to a specific item or does the money just get thrown into the big pot? Personally I thought $50 was reasonable for the year and it would go toward that person's uniform and food at competition.
I haven't had a full time job during the semester, but it might be worth mentioning that I got my internships(and most likely future full-time job) through SAE rather than through the career center.Nacho_240 wrote:Anyways, I was curious to know how many of you students (Red Coupe, zalicar, RBbugBITme, crzycav86) have jobs. working is for p******.Nacho_240 wrote:i just read this whole thread and was surprised to see how dedicated some people are to their fsae teams. Although I 'm a chem eng major, I decided to show up to one of my schools SAE meetings just to see what it's like and find out what they really do. I was pretty disappointed in the lack of organization though.

No, why do you askduffman1278 wrote:Red coupe, are you in th SAE program at Cal Poly Pomona by any chance?
I am in formula hybrid, not the regular formula... We meet on Tuesdays during U hour, and we are definitely NOT crowdedduffman1278 wrote:haha mybad, I didn't feel like reading all the post. I wanted to join that but the class is so crowded whenever I get to campus on thursday which is 12:20pm. Plus that would make me late as it is to the meetings.
Well it took me a couple months to respond...been busy...but, yea, I do have a job, its only part-time though, and it looks like I'll be getting an A in all my classes except two, in which I'll end up with a B. SAE collegiate design series activities do take up a lot of time, but like everyone has been saying, their def. worth it, and really improve your odds of getting a job.Nacho_240 wrote:Anyways, I was curious to know how many of you students (Red Coupe, zalicar, RBbugBITme, crzycav86) have jobs. Holy **** man, I think those same 8+ guys have been flying across the country between yall's tuesday meetings and our wednesday meetings...what are the odds!!Red coupe wrote:Its our first year so the core group who actually does more then just show up at meetings is really small (for some reason we still have 8+ guys who do nothing more then come to the hour long Tuesdays meetings ), so we could always use more help.
They do seem to like their general meetings.zalicar wrote:
