Has anyone had trouble with the auto up safety feature going off when they roll up their windows? My passenger window does it after it was replaced after a break-in. Is there a way to reset the auto up system?

I put auto down on my last car, but there is no safety feature for auto down.

there is a button for reseting the limits. the limits get knocked out of whack when the battery is disconnected when the window is down. this is a very simple fix but it takes patience to do it. you wil need to remove the door panel to gain access to the reset button. let me know if this is something you think you can do. if so i will get you the procedure from the service manual. I assume this is your 01 pathfinder?

Yes, you are correct it is a 01 Pathfinder. I am definitely capable of doing the job, so if you could get the instructions from the manual to me that would be great! Thank you so much for the help!

By the way, does anyone else have really slow front windows? Mine are increadibly slow. I thought this was odd considering the young age of the car and the low miles it had when I bought it (16,700 mi). They have been like this since I bought it. I tried waxing the windows, but still no luck.

Thanks again NISTECH! Let me know if you ever want to do a RB 240 swap... I can help you with those.

the windows dragging is pretty common on the newer nissans because the window runs are so tight now to prevent wind and road noise as much as possible. if your can get ahold of some silicone lubricant spray it down the window runs at the front and rear of the window this will help the window glide smoother. once you have the door panel off locate where the motor is from the panel side of the inner door. you should see 3 screws surrounding this area in the middle of this area there should be a black circle stuck to the door. remove that circle and you should see a black rubber button. while putting the window up manually(do not activate auto mode) hold that rubber button in once it reaches the top let go off the button. then in manual mode put the window al the way down while pushing the button. once you reach the bottom let go of the button. now use auto feature to roll the window up it should have reset both the limit switches and you will be good to go. note: after you remove the door panel obviously you need to reconnect the window switches to do this procedure. That info on the procedure is from memory so if it doesnt work let me know. and i will have the step by step procedures tonight.

I wont be needing the RB 240 info. I dont even own a nissan as of yet. but if i do get one it will probably be a 350z roadster and/or a titan. dont know yet gotta wait and see how the new models turn out after a couple years.

Thanks again for the help, that is awesome! I am on my 2nd 240 (first one was in crappy condition) and doing another RB swap sometime next year. It will be my 3rd swap, unless some other people have me do theirs before I get to mine... stinks having other people first, but I have to get the money somewhere.

I don't know about the Titan, other than it's an awesome truck, but my buddy got a 350Z track ed. and loves it. I've driven it a few times myself, and can vouch that it's an awesome ride.

Thanks again!

did you get your window fixed? i now have the offical procedure it seems I added my very own step to the process. but it shoul have still worked cause the actual procedure was involed in what I told you. you dont have to push the rubber button when putting the window to the top. you only need to push it when going down.

I wish I had the time to and resources to build my engine in my camaro. but my job keeps me from having any desire to work on cars when I am at home. It's awesome to see others projects though. where are you located?

I am in Charleston, SC and working for Bosch right now. I haven't had a chance to fix the window yet, but will take a crack at it tomorrow. Thanks again!
