Does anyone know if you can put the auto-up/down switch on the other windows?

Don't know if anyone's tried. It would be interesting, although I don't think it would work. The function is controlled by programming in the BCM.

Sure would be nice if the BCM could be programmed to automatically lock the car doors when driving.

That happened to me after I did my intake. Then about two months later they randomly started working again...

It is in the FAQ at nissanversa.org. You roll up the window and then hold it for about 10 more seconds. It worked for me and I frequently disconnect the battery.

I just installed an alarm over the weekend (viper 5002) and it has autolocking doors when the ignition is turned on.

Damn, I was hoping it was the switch, not a computer control. I have seen switches that work that way without a computer.

I have a real problem with those. Every car I have used with those has a major flaw. When you try to open the door, they don't unlock. I see that as a major safety hazard. If in a crash you had to get out fast, you may be so disorientated & panicced that you can't unlock the door. I guess that is true about all cars I have driven. It just doesn't make sence, but I would rather lock the car, than some computer.

My early 80's (80-84) Subarus had those kinds of switches you are referring to. But I suppose in this day and age, everyone has to have everything controlled electronically instead of mechanically. *sigh*

from your owners manual...

When power window switch does notoperateSome power window functions may become inoperableafter the battery terminal is disconnected, the electrical supply interrupted and/orsome abnormality detected. Use the followingreset procedure to return the power window operationto normal.1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.2. If the window is closed, open it more thanhalfway by operating the window switch.NOTE:If the window is already open more thanhalfway, go to the next step.3. Pull up and hold the window switch to closethe window. Hold the switch for approximately4 seconds after the window has fullyclosed, then release it.4. Check the window to be sure the powerwindow functions operate properly. If the power window functions do not operateproperly after performing the above procedure, see a NISSAN dealer for assistance.
