Two days ago I noticed the first time on my 02 QX4 that if I press keyfob to unlock all doors or only the driver's door but don't open any door, the door will automatically re-lock in a few minutes, maybe five minutes. I don't think it's said in the owner's manual but I do like that as a feature.

Some lexus cars are designed with "auto" lock feature. It assumes if none of the doors are opened after they are unlocked for a while (within one minute or so), the driver must have forgot to enter the car and left the car alone.

Anyone has found the same?

I counted the time it takes to auto lock the doors, almost exactly 5 minutes. I'd like it to be one minute or so.

And did you know that if you hold the unlock button down for a few seconds, the front windows will automatically go down? Oh, you did? O.K., never mind. :D

Yes I know that feature, the same as my 96 Maxima, and it's in the owner's manual.

Infiniti should have created a better key fob. The crap they gave us for the QX4, looks exactly like the nissan key-fob for the pathfinder. Plus the features suck. When holding the unlock button on the key fob, ALL the windows should go down and sunroof open via Lexus RX300 and mercedes ML series. Upon starting the vehicle, the doors should automatically lock via American trucks. Plus I hate the look of the cheap key and keyfob. In addition the doors should lock sooner if one forgets to open the door. :oface

I absolutely agree with you leeQX4. I want all the features you mentioned. As to the key fob, I know it's shared with Pathfinder -the cost cutting design. The whited painted symbol, especially the "unlock" on my key fob already started fading, later it'll be completely gone. The RX300 key fob is far better:

Symbles are moulded so they are permanent.Key is integrated into transmitter so it's a one piece.Ket teeth are inside so outer edge are smoothly straight, won't cut my pocket.

Not just the key fob, I think Toyota/Lexus has better attention to details overall.

Exactly!! My brother just bought a 2000 RX300 and that's how I found out about all the windows going down on the lexus truck. I was so pissed off about that. I saw it before on the ML320 and my mom's car, and I thought all trucks and cars should come like that. Then, I noticed my brother's lexus and that pissed me off. Oh well, at least the fx 35/45 has better keys. Infiniti must have noticed something. :rolleyes :(
