AUTO DIMMING EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRRORS

I am driving in the 2013 M37 Loaner.... It is equipped with the auto dimming exterior rear view mirrors.... Question, can they be retrofitted to the 2012? Has anyone tried it? Also, the car has the backup warning sensors, can this be retrofitted to the 2012 as well? Thanks... Hope this is not a previously asked post.....

My 2011 with Tech package has backup warning sensors. I'm sure the side mirrors can be retrofitted but I'm not sure how the wiring would work out. I would imagine you would have to tap into existing wiring for power...or something. Clearly I have no idea what I'm talking about lol.

My bet is that the end connect of the harness needs to be adapted not the whole wiring harness....

You can add just about any option like the mirror and rear sensors if you're electrically inclined and aren't afraid to mess with your car. The auto dimming mirror is a piece of cake. The rear sensors you may want to go to a professional as that involves cutting into the bumper.

I have a 2011 m37s.and my side mirrors dim.the sensors I'm without.they are anoyying

I have the speakers in my front seats (doesn't that mean my car is just about fully loaded sans the DVD player and climate rear seats?) but would love to have both those features.
