Just discovered this board so I thought I would throw a question up right away. I just completed a swap from auto to manual on my '88 300zx NA but I'm having trouble with the wiring. I've read all the posts about wiring up the inhibitor switch to trick the car into thinking its in park, but I cant seem to find the harness. I purchased the car with no transmission installed so I do not have access to the inhibitor switch or harness. For the life of me I cant seem to find the connection near the battery where it should be. I have one 8 pin plug but the wiring colors are different and there are only 6 wires going to it. Can someone with an automatic trans post a pic of their inhibitor harness? I'm beggin!

you don't have to have the switch, at the right front corenr of the car is a box or relays, one of them is the ihhibitor relay, you simply pull out the relay and bridge the 2 connections, or even better wire it to your cluthc pedal for a clutch saftey

That is exactly what I was looking for! I saw the inhibitor relay but I wasnt sure if I could bridge it or not. I will give it a try! I really appreciate it!

just be sure you use the correct pins, just look at the relay and it'll show you which pins are for switching and which are for trigger
