depends. Two 10s have a little more surface area than one twelve, and you can feed them more power. This should yield more bass. One twelve will take up less room, 1.7cf vs 2cf for the two 10s, sealed enclosures. But you can wire the 10's in a 4 ohm load, whereas one twelve will be either 2 or 8 ohms (they are DVC subs). This means you amp needs to be 2 ohm capable (8 ohms will cut the amp's power in half). Also one sub means less money on a bigger amp, less stuff to wire, less to break, and I think one sub sounds better than multiple subs. Also, a 12 will play a little deeper than a 10 and does not have to push the cone as far (excursion) as a 10 to make the same bass note at the same frequency. I think this helps with the sound quality, life of the woofer, and I think a 12 is the best size woofer for car audio applications (15s require too large of a box, bc I prefer ported enclosures), but that's my opinion.
