I am just learning my 2014 Q70 with Bose studio system. I notice that when I get back in the car after having left the system on XM, I sometimes return to the iPod playing. Is there a setting to having it remember the last device played?

Thanks in advance.

Are you plugging you phone in when you get back in the car? If so, that will override whatever you had used last. When you plug in your phone it assumes that you want to play from it. Otherwise, every time I get in the car and turn on the radio, it does revert to the last input I was playing from.

Not sure there's a way around that..for whatever reason because the car doesn't turn on the iPod when the car itself is turned on (you have to manually turn on your iPod, why I do not know, it pisses me off every time) the car always instantly recognizes it as having just been plugged in which in turn makes the radio shift to it.

I think that's just how the radio is set up to work unfortunately

This used to happen to me in my EX all the time when I left the iPod plugged in--usually it would actually switch to the iPod a bit after starting the car because it wouldn't recognize the iPod for a little bit after starting. The car would then switch to it because that is what it does when something is newly plugged in. I suspect something similar is happening on your Q70. My suggestion would be to unplug the iPod, only plugging it in when you want to listen to it.

I have seen this on my car (2012 m37s) but < a half dozen times in 3 the years I've owned it. I don't think i've ever unplugged my iPod since taking possession of the car! Also keep my radio set to XM as default.

How often does this happen for you?

About half the time I get in. Usually after the car has sat overnight.

I think it's the iPod battery dying when the car is not in use. And when you turn the car on, it gets a sudden charge and the car thinks a USB device has been just plugged in. And when that happens, it switches to iPod interface quickly.
