I was just wondering if you guys were willing to make a custom body kit? If so, how much will it cost? Thanks.

Wow custom body kit?? With the research and development costs dude you dont even want to know. I saw the Stillen facility in person and man do they spend alot of time and effort making every single part. The cost for doing this for a special single design at a time would be enormous.

You can find body kit companies that do R&D and they would need your bumper for like 2-3 weeks. But most of them are located in California. So good luck.

To make a custom body kit off your designs from mold to production would be close to the cost of a loaded A/C.. but then you could tell people you have a $60K custom car

naw i dont think it'll cost that much. A few shops here makes them out of fiberglass (cheaper way) for a few G's. But I didnt want a fiberglass one so I thought I ask someone who already made a few out of polyurethane. They could just take their bumper and work from there. Callin me a newbie too huh....okay. How am I a newb? Whats wrong with asking huh? Forget it, close this thread.

how are you a newb?

well to me...getting upset over getting called a newb is pretty newb hahah

sorry but u are kinda new to this forum, as we all can tell, and the question seems kinda obvious that it wouldnt cost any cheaper then 4 grand a piece (bumper etc.) to buy a already made one cost around 500, to get one customed would cost a heck of alot more due to the fact that they have to make a new design for you, and make the final piece, would be a lot of steps and work, therefore alot of money

I can tell you from experience that just a lip spoiler mold costs about $4K and that's not including materials yet..

I think you're best bet is to become friends with a guy who can lay glass pretty good, take him out to dinner and schmooze him into making you a kit. It'll be a lot cheaper.

The only way you can get a cheap one off body kit is if you cut off the bottom portion of your bumper and mold on a different after market piece. Otherwise these guys are right.... You have to account for CNC machine time to cut the molds. Maybe do it a few times until you get the draft angles right. The material never comes out exactly how the mold is designed. Nobody is knocking you for being a newb, they were just poking a little fun at the thought of what you were asking them. Don't take it personal, get over it.

Unfortunately 1 off urethane body kits are kind of impossible unless you are willing to make a VERY LARGE investment. We took about 10 weeks to develop the front fascia for the Altima Coupe. Factoring in the fact that there were 3 guys working on that project the entire time, plus the cost of materials to make the model, then the mold. We're actually pretty scared to think of how much we have invested in this fascia haha. We probably have at least $50,000.00 invested before we even make the first part.

For a custom body kit I would think that you're going to want to look into fiberglass.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Hey Kyle, I'm ready to purchase the front facia, but wanted to purchase and paint side skirts at the same time. How close is Stillen to releasing side skirts?

Anybody else in the forum installed side skirts on the A/C? I know that Fox Marketing has them available, but I am a little nervous as to how they will look with the Stillen front facia.

Adidas: What were your thoughts around this when you purchased and installed the Stillen facia?

Appreciate any feedback before I make the purchase.....i'm eager and ready with the dough.

This picture is actually a composite of the Stillens front fascia along with the Fox Marketing side skirts and rear bumper lip.

The fascia is defiantly high quality. I think it is well worth the money. The install was fairly straight forward with only a few hick ups along the way. You can find these problems in my other thread titled "Stillen bumper installed". Make sure you connect all the splash guards along the bottom of the car tightly and put all the right clips back in the correct holes otherwise the pieces will shier off due to all the wind force and be destroyed. Im not sure the Fascia is wind tunnel crafted however because i encounter and awful lot of wind resistance/noise now with the Stillen fascia as opposed to the stock "bird beak" bumper. Good luck on the purchase and read up in the forums with all the posts about the fascia, you'll find alot of helpful info.

Thanks man. I have been keeping up with the threads every day so I am well versed on the challenges that you previously posted. Couple of questions...

1. How noisy?2. Have you noticed a difference in handling and/or fuel economy?3. Why did you decide not to go with the side skirts?

Cheers!

Adidas-

That is actually a rendering that we did in house. It is very similar to what our rockers are going to look like. We have an altima coupe in the modeling shop right now and the rockers are the focus. It will probably be about 2-3 weeks before we have them ready to ship.

Let's not say anything we might have to take back now…. just kidding, hope it's out in that time period. I've noticed myself looking to Stillen for a lot of stuff lately.

My other concern is how they will mount. I cringe when ever I have helped people do body kits and have to end up drilling through the OEM side skirt underneath to fasten them together. My last one was with a Kaminari kit, good stuff but I understand the extra effort in making a skirt with OEM stock hook ups.

Personally I'm still undecided on the Stillen lip or the full fascia. Even if I do the lip I could end up spending as much as the full bumper with install and paint simply because I plan to get a grille and do some powder coating with the lip. Every day I look at my car and think about how bad something has to be done. The grill, the bumper or bird nose as someone called it, the chrome, the only bad thing is losing my fog lights.

I'm sure after I see Dangeris red Altima painted up it'll be easier to decide. Just want to see the fascia on a car with some color contrast to get an idea for my precision grey.

Haha...If it takes longer than a few weeks, I apologize in advance haha.

We are also working on a front splitter that will work the factory front end. It's looking really good and kind of resembles the front splitter on the Corvette ZR-1. Personally I really like it.

I'm glad that you are looking at Stillen for your parts. We strive to build the best product that we can and offer the best customer service possible.

By the way Blake,

your pictures should be on the site by the end of the day today. Are you going to be attending the Oxnard show? I am going to try to make it with our blue car, if you are going we should try to park next to each other.

They are essentially the same as the grey car that adidas (blake) posted. That scoop being so high isn't possible, so we had to drop that down a bit but it's still in there.

I have seen the rockers from Fox Marketing. They are clean and pretty nice. Ours are going to be a bit more aggressive and our scoop won't come out.

Hmm the front looks a lot like what FoxMarketing has right now. Matter of fact same for the side skirts/rockers.

Sure you don't just want the FoxMarketing kit?
