Another scumbag exits the swamp

Health Secretary Tom Price Resigns After Drawing Ire for Chartered Flights

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/29/us/p ... -news&_r=0

"WASHINGTON — Tom Price, the health and human services secretary, resigned under pressure on Friday after racking up at least $400,000 in travel bills for chartered flights and undermining President Trump’s promise to drain the swamp of a corrupt and entitled capital."

http://elitedaily.com/news/politics/twi ... t/2083826/

"Before he joined the Trump administration, Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price made something of a name for himself by advocating for cutting wasteful government spending. So you can imagine the reaction when it was revealed earlier this week that Price has been chartering private jets and using military planes on the taxpayer dime to the tune of $1 million. And there's no shortage of tweets about Tom Price's plane usage to point out the irony and hypocrisy of his actions — using his own words.

Politico broke the news on Sept. 21 that Price used private jets at least 24 times since early May. While initially it looked like Price had charged roughly $300,000 worth of private travel to taxpayers, Politico has since reported that Price not only spent over $400,000 on chartered domestic flights (including a flight to go have lunch with his son) — he also took military jets on long international flights with his wife. A spokesperson for HHS told Politico that Price had reimbursed the government for his wife's travel expenses, but provided no proof.

As of Sept. 28, the amount Price has spent on travel, both domestically and overseas, exceeds $1 million. He has been HHS Secretary since February 2017."

Apparently he firmly believes in the worship of any type of capitalism as long as you don't get caught, much like the extreme right fat cats. Wasting money is not a capital offense. Getting caught is. That is much more important than human lives.

I guess my issue is, as a logical-thinking person, I simply can't reconcile either the far left or the far right to ANY sort of logic or rationalization. It simply doesn't work.

It's far, far above and beyond political. If A+B=C, then anything that opposes that is, by definition, false or flawed. And yet, no matter how many times one points out the logical fallacies of most political positions, the blind sheep keep bleating.

The humorous part is, the mouthbreathing 2-digit IQ voters INSIST that if you disagree with any of their positions, then you're automatically a Trump-loving, right-wing, racist, misogynist, homophobic loon.

Yet, right here on this site, we have women, gays, and racial minorities CLOBBERING the Hillary Hordes in spectacular fashion. Some of them are Trumpers, some of us are Libertarians... but that alone flies in the face of their assumptions.

Until they can reconcile any of those issues, they'll have to stick to robotic cut-and-paste parties as they swill their Metamucil, beg for socialized medicine, wonder why everyone couldn't see the brilliance of Crooked Hillary, tug their shriveled puds to a picture of Barry O, and pray to the Voodoo Goddess to give them enough sack to change the world. :)

Found a great scumbag here in PA. Congressman Tim Murphy from near Pittsburgh. Murphy happens to be a Republican but I get satisfaction whenever any preachy family values politician (any party) gets caught. Regardless of your political stances, I hope you'll find it funny. Trevor Noah brought it up on his program the other day which explains it pretty well.

Enjoy.

wow, I'm surprised Howie hasn't gleefully chimed in about former Judge Roy Moore, RNC nominee US Senator in Alabama. For those living in a cave, he's been accused of propositioning teen girls as young as 14 while in his 30's, even allegedly calling one in school during her HS trig class to ask her out, plus being put on a "watch list" at a local mall. Curiously, many in the local Crimson (from embarrassment?) Tide GOP still support him despite his dumb explanation that he never dated any girl without her mother's permission. Of course it never occurred to his constituents how many men actually ask adult womens mothers' permission before dating them, but that's yankee logic I 'spose. :)

But to keep it balanced, Democratic US Senator Al Franken was just outed for inappropriate behavior too (without consent) with a female USO performer many years ago. Once while she was asleep, as he said he figured it was "funny"....uh no. But unlike Moore and our self-admitted, pu$$y grabbing president, it appears Franken apologized... after the story hit the fan complete with incriminating photo. I guess the bigger question is why do all these politicians keep promoting family & "Christian" values, and why the heck do people think they're telling the truth? :gotme

Yet another one bites the dust. You'd think these idiots would not be taking such chances of getting caught by now. I wonder how long it will take for Rush Limbaugh to claim this guy is either a closet Democrat or he was just doing research.

Listen to what Moore's wife said yesterday.
Moore is Alabama's problem and should he manage to win he may not even be seated as a senator?
As for Franken he apologized, thought incorrectly that the photo was funny.

Many have done stupid things.
While in college in a four hour mechanical drawing class held in the third floor elementary school, one class member (not me) tied another student's coat on a long venetian blind string when the student went to go to the bathroom and thru the coat out the window.
The young students and teachers below thought someone jumped or fell out the window when they saw the coat go by their window.
Everyone in the class thought it was pretty funny until the police showed up.

I've been following the news and as far our NJ Senator he most likely can thank the right leaning Supreme Court for the hung jury.
After the McDonald decision it becomes very difficult to convict on such charges.

I agree that his supporters will not change their minds, but it's more important politically than "Alabama's problem" as it's a Senate position. Alabama is not unique. Both parties have sadly devolved into choosing party over ethics. If Moore ends up getting elected, it seems unlikely to me the RNC will expel him and risk giving up a GOP senatorial vote. Don't get swayed by the rhetoric.

As far as Moore's wife. I guess in the Moore family, the 10 commandments are followed closely, though it seems their interpretation of "thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife" means thy neighbor's underaged daughters are fair game.

Howie, you're not excusing your senator's behavior, are you?

I probably shouldn't be so hard on you... It's gotta suck being a fanboy of a proven band of s***bags like the DNC or GOP.

As an independent, I'm a fan of lengthy prison sentences for actual material offenses (molestation, rape, etc). However, I think we've gotten so obsessed with policing words, thoughts, and private behavior, we're criminalizing everything based on what party it benefits (or demeans). Meanwhile, our society thrives on garbage music, garbage movies, garbage entertainment, making light of the very behavior we claim to despise, and Hollywood is eyeball-deep in the cesspool.

It's asinine.

I think the politics in the U.S. is pretty s***, regardless of affiliation. Left and right are taking turns screwing us citizens and it's now just become a tool to divide the people even further. Those who have money will continually push legislation through through lubing their lobbying with countless dollars. Rulings that allow big banks to do as they please, the most recent I can remember right now being Citizens United really did a number on our politics. If rats like Frank Luntz is jumping ship to New Zealand, then it's got to tell you something about the state of the United States.

I think I would have preferred to have that lesson outside of a piece of s*** human being that divides the people he’s suppose to serve and kills almost all faith in our politics internationally while doing it. The people who voted for him piss me off at the sheer ignorance they decide to live their life in and how the K-12 educational system fails the people. It also irritates me how complacent people are at letting others make decisions for them.

It should never be “vote for s*** #1 or vote for s*** #2.” It should be having better qualified people who want to work for the people who were elected by well informed, critically thinking people. It’s not the politicians we should be pissed at. It’s ourselves and our politicians.

krimson_viper - I think we all wish that lesson be outside of this particular individual.

The "press" is doing us no favors either. Since corporations now demand the news departments turn a profit rather than be a "loss-leader" service of the company they are not demanding answers and doing serious investigative reporting. For example, when the President tweets his false news claims, they should call him on it. Repeatedly. Make it absolutely clear they will not cover any new unsubstantiated claims by him until he factually addresses the one at hand. But, alas, they are all too worried they might lose access to the press briefing room at the White House, something that is totally meaningless right now and they will be invited back with the next administration anyway.
