As some of you know, my car's been running quite rich lately, and I really have no means to adjust it...I was planning on upgrading my fuel system in the future anyhow, and I'd like to be able to adjust the air/fuel ratio.

Now for the questions:Basically, I just want to be able to adjust the a/f to make it run more neutral than rich at about 9 psi on a T3 super 60B (.48/.60).

1) Can either of these units be used with an aftermarket RRFPR programmed?2) Both of these units can be used with stock injectors, correct?3) If I wanted to upgrade to SR 370CC injectors, I could "program" either unit to run with bigger injectors, correct?4) Both of these units can be used with an S14 KA MAF, correct (1995)5) How hard is it to install either of these units?6) How hard is it to adjust the air/fuel ratio for both of these? (ie, do you need separate harnesses, etc) They are both piggy back units, correct? But the S=AFC has an actual display and the Emanage does not?7) Basically I'm looking for ease of installation, and ease of control--I don't need anything crazy, I basically want it to be able to make my car run a little more lean and to lean it out even more when I have to go through emissions, and to be able to upgrade to SR injectors when I wish to. Which do you think will be the best?8) I know the Emanage adjusts timing as well, but the S-AFC doesnt?9) What is the difference between the regular S-AFC, super S-AFC, and S-AFC II?

I'll be thinking of more questions and posting them as well...Thanks!

Yes, if I had an extra $600 I wouldn't be asking these questions.... I wasn't looking to spend much...and Apexi units go for $265 brand new, $210 used...not bad!

I'm surprised no one has responded yet...anyone?

265 eh? where are you shopping? I'm getting a deal froma friend for 300 on a new AFC II, and I haven't seen them go for less than 350 online, and Nipponpower.com is one of the cheapest places I've found for parts

Well naturally I'd go for it used...$210 shipped I found some guy selling it for...I guess the ones I saw (at http://www.rollhard.com) were the regualr S-AFC's...and if I knew the difference between the S-AFC and the S-AFC II (which is one of the q's i asked), then I'd know there'd also be a price difference...!

Greddy E-manage would be best for overall tuneability.... since later on you can add extra sensors and harnesses like a MAP sensor and an ignition sensor. Those would come in handy when tuning for boost, at least.

Ace, I guess we are both plugging the emanage. Offers a ton more tunability and ignition timing control not to mention can work with a boost control, datalog, adjust for injectors, Mafs, atmospheric bov's. I guess the thing it is missing, that most people like is the bling bling of the little lights on the the display of the SAFC.

Yes, you all speak of infinite tuneability...I don't need that...I just need to make my car NOT rich, especially for emissions testing.

So can the AFC be used with a KA MAF with larger injectors? It seems like it could...just program it to use less fuel?

The only problem i see with the E-manage is that once you've bought all of the features (boost control, data logging, MAP, etc.) you've spent as much as you would on a stand-alone like the E6k or SDS, but all you have is a piggy-back.

yes i agree but for people only using it to run about 15 psi or so and dont need the infinite tuning its easier because its a plug and play system

I spent about $500. The E-Manage can datalog with just the basic unit, you just need a laptop with the support tool or a E-01. The Map sensor is not necessary unless you exceed the MAF's capability to measure airflow. And even then, its probably easier for most to just swap to a higher capacity MAF. As far as boost control, how many Standalones actually can control boost anyways? I've not seen a piggyback up and running for less than $1000. Double the cost. I see no problem with not spending $500.

Get the SAFC II. On E-Bay. It will allow you to switch back and forth between two sets of data, one for low emmisions, one for normal driving. You can use a stock MAF (or a different one) and you can use larger injectors. It's cheaper and will do all that you are saying that you need. The E-manage is nice but requires a laptop to utilize the full benefit of the system.

Good info Wabernethy...looks like when I can scrounge up $290 for one off of ebay, I'll buy 'er...$250 for a bumper, $150 for painting, $300 for a new turbo, $670 for new wheels take their toll on a poor HS student
