Start getting oil from ANWAR instead of overseas and gas prices will go down, then we won't have to fret!

It appears that brands DO matter. Chevron and Shell are both certified "Top Tier" gasoline retailers, meaning they make certain their detergent packages are the best in the business.

Here's a thread I started about ethanol, which includes links to info on Top Tier stations, and the difference it makes for your car:

Don't count on it. At fully developed production, it will be able to supply at most 1.5% of domestic consumption. Not a big effect on international oil prices.

You're probably right max. IMHO I think that is where this is all headed. Don't mean to get this OT but methinks that is why gas keeps staying up so high, so they can get it opened up b/c everyone will be so pissed off about mideast oil. I don't trust politicians, republican, democratic, or otherwise. I don't know why, I just don't?!?!

Tier 1 until the end!

Synthtetic or from shale oil will be more expensive, but maybe higher grade. 110 Motor Octane at the pump!

Had a friend who headed up the petroleum testing agency here and he said those were the cleanest fuels. I don't know, just seems like a good investment to protect my ride.
You're not anal, Sadams...these are the only gasolines (in all 3 grades)which currently meet the detergency standards set jointly by: BMW, Honda, Toyota and GM.

That makes me feel better! No I can explain to "her" why I do it, not that she'll understand...
