In regards to the engines, no, no one has received them yet. I have returned a few peoples deposits, and I'm not taking on any more deposits until everything is settled. There was a thread about it in the SR20 forum. In regards to "APCSKYLINE" heres a few responses.

Um, I bought an engine from Dauntt and I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried. Reguardless I am sticking with him because I like dealing with friendly people.

It is my understanding that the container was not just lost temporarily but permanently, i.e. stolen at port. This happens all the time. I am just worried that it will happen again.

We all just want our engines so we can outrun you when we see you.

For now, just sticking with it. Plans to change.... none.

Yes, it is a common occurance. I have never seen it happen first hand and certainly never with engines but my best friend works at the local corporate center for Best Buy and he tells me that 9 times out of ten when they order bulk products(DVD,CD,TV... electronics) and it is lost, it is caused by theft at port. People who work at or are associated with the shipping companies know what is in a container. Sometimes they can make a killing by accidentally putting on a truck to a cash buyer. There is a sizable police unit in LA whose sole task is looking for these lost goods. In fact, there was a show about this exact issue on the Learning Channel a while back.

It does not surprise me that some one would steal a container full of import engines at all. Where do you think they got the idea for the whole criminal aspect of Fast and the Furious??

I am probably silly to assume that that is what actually happened to Daunts first shipment, but it is a real possibility. Either way, insurance is a good thing and he seems to have effectively covered himself:)

Heh, well, we don't know for sure what happened to it, I was never given a reason why it didn't show up. I suppose it's a possibility, but I hold to the fact that it just got misplaced. : ) I'm also using a different shipping company now. : ) Enjoy your day!

Either way I am still happy with dauntt', as long as I can be up and running this spring I will be happy. My neighbor is the nicest person in the world for letting me park my dead S13 in half of his driveway for such an uncertain, long amount of time. His girlfriend hates me though, oh well.

And that’s where my job comes in. At my job we build and sell GPS tracking devices that are placed on containers that work off of solar power and these units can triangulate off of cell towers and if one box comes up missing or stolen it can be "polled" or "pinged" from a network and in a matter of about 20 sec the ping will come back with latitude longitude data of it’s exact location. Give or take 5 feet or so but hey no one is perfect.

He better be able to supply those engines, I know a lot of people waiting for those engines, if he's lying, he better jet towards the borders or across the world. One person gave me a theory that Daunt is already in Japan w/ all the peeps money they gave him, and is posting from japan laughing at everyone in the states that ordered sr's, while he cruises in his skyline.
