Hello everyone! I have a 1999 Touring w/ 255k miles on all original suspension trying restore some of the poor boy's (his name is Qbert) original ride.
The research I've done online and elsewhere says that The OEM struts are still available from some dealers but of course they're over 600 some dollars each and the car cost me only $2,000 total and it's in great shape but that just isn't reasonable.
The solutions I'm reading says that you can use the non-touring strut cartridges and they will fit inside the touring struts but you lose the adjustability which is fine with me. However I have looked everywhere with all parts dealers and suppliers and I cannot find a listing for any struts that will work for a '99 Q45 whether it's the adjustable struts or not in anything aftermarket except for the rear ones I found a listing for a Gabriel p/n G51930. It appears those are the rears for the non touring models. But that is it I cannot find anything else for struts or the mounts in touring or non touring for the front or anything else. Maybe there were some old ones in the past that are no longer available I have checked Rock Auto, world pack, advanced Auto parts, AutoZone, Napa, O'Reilly's, factory motor parts, and I can't find anything else..
does anyone know if there are still currently any struts available aftermarket that will work for these? And also possibly the mounts as well? please include brand part numbers and any sources that you may have for those that would be greatly appreciated.

on a separate but related item I was also trying to find control arm bushings and/or lower ball joints and don't seem to have any luck with those either except the OEM lower strut rods which are like three $400 as well. My idea was that I would just make my own OEM bushings using liquid polyurethane and pouring the mold into the old parts by taking them out of the car and removing all of the old rubber and then just pouring new ones. That will solve the control arm bushings and sway bar bushings and such but that will not work for the ball joints..does anyone know if there are any aftermarket ball joints available for these cars front and or rear?

I did find the video that people mentioned that apparently the strut cartridges for an old Chevy Lumina will work with some retrofitting and I saw the video and even contacted through YouTube on the comments the person that did it and it seems plausible but not very clear on exactly what parts you need or where to find them.... He shows all of these extra little sleeves and collars and spacers he uses but just says he got him at Home Depot and not really clear how to find the exact parts you need and which ones will work at... Just seems more complicated.

I know there might be some old posts that address these concerns but for everything I'm seeing and everything can find now nothing seems to be current to today is finding these parts available now that I can find. PLEASE HELP!

The lumina strut insert thing is probably cheapest option. did it right after i saw that guys video about a year and a half ago and its smooth ridin. the sleeves are just brass bushings for cartridge to sit on since they are shorter. ebay has cheap bearing/strut mount but had to enlarge mount center hole for lumina cartridge. entire thing was under 100 bucks.
