Hi. I wonder if someone had installed an up/down switch for antenna on a z32.
Any info will be helpful.

What you need is either a rocker switch, or a push-on, push-off push button switch, rated for 12V DC @ 30 AMPS.
It only needs to be a SPST (single position single throw), meaning there should be only two terminals to hook up. If its a lighted rocker or push button, there will be a third terminal, a ground for the light.
If you go to the FSM then jump to the electrical section, you want to be looking at page 93. There is a 10 pin connector going to the radio, at least there was originally. If the stock head unit has been replaced, hopefully they used a harness adapter. Either way, you can use the blue wire going to the connector for the power (ignition switched power), and the Black with Red stripe as the trigger for the antenna. With the ignition switch in the ACC or ON position, sending power from the blue wire to the black with a red stripe wire triggers the power antenna timer to raise the antenna. Disconnecting the power triggers the timer to lower it.

You don't want to cut the blue wire that either goes to connector or splices into the head unit, what ever case may be, you just want to tap into it. You should cut the black with red stripe wire if you want to control the antenna with the switch.
Then just run a wire tapped into the blue wire to one terminal on the switch (If you are using a lighted switch, run it to the Power terminal) . Then connect the black wire with red stripe to the other terminal ( Again, if using a lighted switch, the LOAD or ACCESSORY terminal)
Now when the key is turned on your antenna will go up if the rocker or button is in the on position. If you put it in the off position, the antenna will lower.

Hope this helps ;)

Thanks javadave. I do have the original radio harness untouched. It seems to be a pretty simple project. Will buy the switch and get it done. :)

Just an update. Done as per javadave's instructions and it works great. Now I can control that antenna. Thanks again.

Glad to hear :)
I did mine about 4 months ago cuz I missed the little gem of an idea that with a stock head unit, when you insert a cassette or cd the antenna would lower itself to cut down drag ;)
I'm usually listening to something off my thumb-drive, since Atlanta radio stations aren't the greatest, and its nice to drop the antenna when its not needed!
