I'm hooking up an aftermarket headunit, and I have all the extras that I need. The problem I have is the the antenna adapter confuses me . I have the one from crutchfield,

And I am not sure what the blue wire is for. Where does it splice into? Do I even need it? Right now, I just have it taped off, and I get FM, but it's awful, and absoluely no AM.

The problem is the Versa atenna is "powered" and if you do not hook the blue wire, the atenna doesn't get power... now the only thing is i wouldn't know what voltage it requires... hope that helps a little?

I would guess that the blue wire which comes off of the metra harness is atenna power.

The blue wire off the Metra harness has no power. You need to hook the blue wire off of the head unit to the blue antenna wire. If you look at your factory harness connector you'll see that the blue Metra harness connects to a dead socket.

I have the blue remote wire off the head unit connected to an amp. So just splicing the blue wire on the antenna adapter harness into that remote wire should work?
