My Bose system was taking a crap, so I bought a cheap sony cd player from a friend. I just wanted something that would actually play cds. I have everything hooked up, the radio works, antenna works, etc. The CD player will read cds, show the track number and time and such, but won't make sound. Does it sound like the CD player might just be broken? I don't really know what else would cause that.

It sounds like it could be 2 things.

1) Are your speakers blown? Try installing different speakers.2) The speaker wires could be bad. This can be either from the radio itself or the wires on the speakers themselves. I'm having the same problem with my new Pyle radio. Everything works except for the sound. I think the speaker wires are bad (the ones from the radio itself), so I'll put my coin on that for your case. If that doesn't work, replace the wires for the speakers & make sure that you have a good connection on all ends.

No dude, the stereo works fine, like I can listen to the radio. But when the CD is read, it shows the track number and counts it off, but there's no sound.I bought it for $30 from a friend. I'll probably just go buy another, slightly better one.
