Well, if I'm not the first Rogue owner in New York, I'm awful close to it!

Proud owner of #246, an SL AWD in that dynamite BLUE. First or second day of production. Not a problem for me, since my '06 Frontier is #107 for the 2006 model year, has 47K miles on it two years later, and I've given up waiting for a warranty problem to pop up.

I'm still getting used to the 'request' buttons and throwing my keys in my bag in the morning instead of placing them in the ignition switch. My wife got an incoming call last night, and her cellphone was in her purse...my daughter showed her which button to push on the steering wheel, and she flipped out at getting a call over the Bose. Hehehe

Best to all.Mark

PS Pics to come.

Picked up my new Rogue AWD SL with Premium and Leather packages last night. Love it, the ride is smooth and very quiet also love the CVT. I don't understand all the talk about it (CVT) being buzzy and noisy. When I put my foot into and regulat automatic the engine noise is even louder than the CVT. I think that people are not use to the way a CVT works. I passed a car on the highway and it was effortless and by the time i was finished passing i was doing 140 KPH (85MPH) with little fuss. I think Nissan has a winner here.

It's a matter of picking apart the VIN. Every position has meaning.

Here's a Nissan Frontier:1N6AD07W66C400112 1=USA N=Nissan 6=truck AD=Frontier V6 07=short-bed crew cab W=4.0L V-6 engine 6=check digit 6=2006 model year C=Smyrna, TN plant 400112=sequence number. The last six are assigned at the plant, and tell an experienced reader of VINs pretty much the day the vehicle was built. At the Smyrna plant, Nissan builds Altimas, Pathfinders, Frontiers and X-Terras. Pathfinder "last sixes" begin with 500---, Frontiers 400---, XTerras (I think) 600---, and Altimas (also a guess) 100---. A number like "100112" means it was the 112th Frontier built for the 2006 model year, probably a first-or-second day vehicle. The plant in Japan that produces Muranos also produces Rogues, and the Rogue got the "100---" sequence. Mine is "100246", thus is the 246th production Rogue.

Hope this helps.Mark

Thanks, my Rogue's last few #s are 000655 so mine was produced within the first 1000 Rogues! Hopefully this is not a bad thing.

Do you remember why you didn't like the Santa Fe? Just wondering.

I bought my Rogue on Monday and got the SL AWD package, the color is black with a grey leather interior. The neatest option is the Bluetooth phone system, it was easy to set up and now I never have to touch my phone while driving. I think all vehicles should have this option. I've been driving a 2005 Murano SL which while more powerful I think the Rogue is more fun to drive. The paddle shifters really compliment the CVT transmission. I think that Nissan really hit a home run with this SUV. I'll post some photos when I figure out how to do it.

OMG!! I've had my Rogue just 5 days & I learn something new every day! I had no idea until I saw your pics that the inside top of the console had those little compartments! There are SO many little nooks & crannies all over the Rogue! They utilized space in so many creative ways! Another thing I learned today is on both sides of the hideaway back storage area, there are little lift-up compartments! The one on the left had the tow hook in it! I'm just continually amazed at all the little things!

You looked at all the same cars that I did. That said, I found the 4 cylinder Honda CRV did not perform well. I was thinking of getting the 6 cylinder RAV4. Are you happy with the 4 cylinder ROGUE? Presently I am driving a 6 cylinder HIGHLANDER and very happy with that. The CX7 4 cylinder at least offers the peppy Turbo BUT my wife does not like the ZOOM ZOOM noise from the muffler.I do not want to get the ROGUE(Not tested it yet) and feel it is under powered. Any thoughts?Bob

Take one for a test drive. I think you will be suprised with the pep of the Rogue and the smoothness of the CVT. I traded a 4cyl RAV for the Rogue for the interior, quietness, handling/comfort, legroom superiority of the Rogue. Now the RAV 6 cyl is a fine MPG/powerfull combination no doubt. But the 4cyl Rogue has plenty of power for my needs.

Addtional info for you from another review, link to the full review follows.

"Although my initial feelings were that the 2.5-liter four might struggle to haul around the Rogue’s all-wheel drive girth, I often found myself traveling on the interstate at speeds 5-10 miles-per-hour faster than originally intended—such is this CUV’s high-speed composure. This little crossover will happily cruise all day long at 85+ mph, although in all fairness, I didn’t have the opportunity to load it up and head for the hills. It’s a shame that Nissan doesn’t offer a V-6 option like its competitors from Toyota and Saturn, but the four-cylinder, while not quick, is certainly powerful enough to see off four-banger versions of most of its Asian competitors."

Before I purchased the Rogue I almost bought a V6 RAV4. A friend of mine actually has one and let me borrow it for an afternoon. I will say the V6 does have more power than the Rogue, but the Rogue wasn't a disappointment to drive at all! I simply preferred the Rogue. I recommend test driving them back to back if you have power concerns.

I took delivery of my Rogue yesterday. I purchased the SL Premium Package (AWD), Leather Package, Moonroof Package etc; Exterior color = Iridium Graphite with Black (including red highlights) Leather interior. I’m an old man who is used to driving Cadillac’s. I turned my 2006 STS over to my son and purchased the Rogue. I needed a vehicle with the capacity to carry a motorized wheel chair and did not want a huge SUV. So far this is an awesome fun to drive vehicle. Gas mileage is great and performance likewise.

Con is: I can’t get used to having to turn on the headlights.

I was also in the market for a RAV4 V6. Similarly, the Honda CRV was underpowered in my opinion. I almost bought the RAV4 too until I saw the Rogue commercial and went to check it out. I am now patiently awaiting my trip to go get my new Rogue

Definitely take it out for a test drive. I took it out 3 times, insisting to go on the highway at least once, and found passing at high speeds fairly easy. It really is a great drive that you must try.
