Ok I am buying a CA the owner says it has Rod knock and it is 200 dollars will the Ca18et rods works and crank Should I buy it ECT help please It also needs a Turbo the guy pulled it from his Silvia and put a SR into itP.S this motor is for a Customer of Mine I have a RB motor He wanted a CA he know what is wrong with it and he still wants it. I will have to do the build on it though so Any help will be appreciated

ET rods are a lot thinner and the ET crank is cast not forged, has a 6 bolt flywheel fitting and a smaller front end so no you'll need DET rods and crank

as said many different internals from a et to a det

det is a much stronger internally

The rods and crank from an ET, would bolt in there, but would make more problems than anything. The first thing I would do is pull the oil pan and the #3 rod bearing as that is the one that goes 90% of the time. There are at least two members on here that I can remember that spun #3 rod bearings, but the Rods and crank cam out OK. With any luck, you can just get the crank slightly ground and use oversized bearings.

so where do i get the bearings for the DET motor

they are DE bearings.

DE crank should be the same... and you won't need rods man. If you need rods you've got some serious problems!
