back in November, I had the chance to pick up another 73. and this is what i got. its of course a 1973 Datsun PL620 BUT, its got a built L20b (from what i am told anyway. and yes it will roast the tires unlike my other L20 powered 73.) 5 spd manual from a truck, its been lowered and is running a set of 90s toyota 4Runner steelies. all in all not bad for $600. now i have done alot of work to this truck so hopefully it will last a day or two. :)

here it is the day we picked it up. previous owner wanted the tires so we're swapping rims on it for said reason.

when we got it the front bumper was black but flaking, so i used some aircraft stripper to take care of that. now i have a nice chrome bumper again.

yesterday i did some services on this truck. i changed the trans and rear end gear lube. the trans was brown, and the rear was GREEN!. yuck!!!! also back flushed the cooling system. now its all nice and golden again like it should be. i also picked up some 1 inch square stock to raise the carrier bearing. that will be for another day, hopefully this week. gotta find my sawzall to cut it and take some measurements so i can drill and install.

got the carrier bearing raised, and now i have no more vibration in 1st gear. YAY!!!!

today i realized i was being an idiot. i figured out how to fix my heater issues. my KC held the answers.... heater box and controls. i doubt they are much different between the two, so i snagged it. my kid wont need heat for a track truck, so who cares! that box holds the resistor coil and fan motor so any way i look at it, i should be able to fix the system.

greased the outer bearings, yes i know, do both inner and outer at the same time. the only reason i didn't was i dont have new seals for em and o'reallys cant get em. vautozone can but they are a couple days out and no $$. so i greased em and adjusted em. no more vibration at 60! YAY!!!!! now to fix the idler arm and the front end will be done for now. then the Ujoints, carrier bearing, and output shaft seal.
