A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

2002 sentra se-r with 5 spd. I am almost finished changing my engine from my oil consumption problem and came across a problem. looking from under neath my car below from under the engine & the intake manifold there is a black canister with a bracket that mounts to the intake. on the bracket there is a sensor that is brown and the wire connector(Brown color) that comes off that has another wiring harness connector(gray color 2 wire) that I cant seem to find the sensor that the connector goes too. Does anyone know or can anybody check there car and see if they see the wiring harness I am talking about and tell me where the sensor is. I would really appreciate it.

Hrm... it kind of looks like an oxygen sensor plug. Given its location it'd have to be the 2nd sensor. I'll try to remember to pop my hood tomorrow and look for something similar.

Look at the connector real close. Does it show any signs of ever being plugged in. Some newer cars have connectors that aren't used. They are for other options that the vehicle may not have. Have you had any driveability problems.

well that maybe a solution, but I didnt notice it when I was unplugging wiring when I was getting ready to pull motor. now that I am going back together with it I see this connector but no sensor around. I will post pics tonight.

nevermind everyone. I found out what the sensor is that went there. it is a knock sensor and it is screwed into the block and mounts behind the black canister looking valve below the backside of the intake manifold.
