Does anyone know if I can do this ? and if so what radio was used? I would like to install my Alpine unit. But after trying to fit an older Pioneer cassette unit, I ended up putting the Pioneer unit in the console temporarily. It seemed to me that the units physical size wouldn't allow it to fit in the dash without really cutting the plastic bezel. I have already removed the org. radio support plate. So then the question becomes how to support the new radio/cd units weight.
Anyone know what enclosed speakers work well with the limitations of the 620's interior? I don't want to cut door panels or mod too much.
I'm running a Std cab non-AC truck.

It would pain me to see the dash cut up to fit a modern radio in such an old truck. Have you thought about perhaps an under the dash mounting? People make custom center consoles all the time, maybe one could be built for your situation.

I have thought of using the package shelf area to install a panel with a radio in that, it just puts the controls and cd insertion/removal a bit clumbersome/hazardous.

Please dont cut dash:) i have a lil hustler and i have to close my eyes when i do minor motor mods
