A co-worker told me she drove 50 plus km's in her boyfriend's G35 without the key and without any problems.

Think about it. If there were a safety feature that would say....shut the car off....the person driving would end up wrecking it.

on cold mornings i run outside and start my car with the keys in my pocket and then leave the car running to warm while i go back in teh house and drink my dope (coffee). your car will alert you with a loud beeping when your key fob gets outta range, but it will not cause your engine to stop running.

benz has a realllyyyy cool feature i hear. If someone steals the car and drives away with it.. you call them up or something and the next time the car is at a full stop.. they will shut it off somehow. or is that onstar? i dunno.. i've heard about it and thought it was pretty cool

I do the same in hotel parking lots, it's great to get the car warm.I thought the Smart key was a gimic, but after renting a Dodge Magnum last week, digging out and inserting a key is a major hassle!

although the altima is amazing.. a buddy of mine has a magnum... and it was a BLAZE to whip those around in the parking lots with some snow or rain on the ground

Unless it had something like if the car is on and it doesn't detect the key... when the break is pressed to shift into gear... it turns off.

Yup, we sure got spoiled with the intelli-key. I find myself always reaching for the start button when I'm driving my gf car. And I noticed that I'm always reaching for her door without the key in hand

I still laugh like a little kid while doing donuts. I christen our cul-de-sac just about every time it snows. (wife's truck or occasionally the Impala SS gets out). I had a six cylinder Magnum, but with the traction control off, it would still get loose. Strange car though, like looking out thru gun turret sights.
