Fellow Altima Owners,

While searching on Ebay, I found Altima Turbo kits for the QR25 engine if anyone is interested. If you go to ebay, in the search line put QR25 and you will find the Altima Turbo kits.

Welcome Silver~

Im glad you are on the lookout for new stuff for the AC!

KEEPING THAT IN MIND.... the cvt has been shown to buckle under the pressure of a turbo (Adidas2go, another moderator) is working on trying to figure out a way to make it work with a local reputable speed shop in his area.

Furthermore, im the biggest ebay junkie there is! I wouldnt want to get a turbo off there though, and if I did... the seller would have to have a FLAWLESS feedback. Judging by his feedback id say hes been involved in some illicit *feedback buying* and when he got feedback from a sale of a turbo... people werent always happy.

Just my .02

Also, if you are buying stuff online (thru paypal or otherwise) id only fund it with an American Express card IMO... They add a year warranty, and back you up in any sort of battle with a seller.

Thanks -Glad to be part of the site --- I appreciate the input ------ don't worry i'm staying away from it just because of the part "Customer is required to custom fit the intercooler piping and make a custom downpipe in order to make this turbo kit work" But hey if you can make a custom downpipe I guess you might be in business... LOL

Welcome to NICO..

Yeah i think theres a couple turbos that actually fit the QR25 from the Spec-v sentra. The only problem is we dont have a kit for it. So those of us that actually want a turboed 2.5 need to find a reputable shop or company to make a kit that fits the 2.5 engine bay

This kit would bolt on. The only thing thats really different between the 2 cars is the way the intercooler piping would be run through the altima's bumper, and the downpipe from the turbo to the exhaust, that would have the clear the oil pan. However, I wouldn't goto ebay for this. Looks around at local places that do Nissan modifications. They should be able to help.

As LongBeachCoupe (LBC) said, we finished the first turbo for the CVT back in July. It lasted for about 2 weeks, then it overheated, and grenaded itself. After the transmission was replaced, we went at it again. This time with a massive transmission cooler, temp gauges, and an array of aluminum heat shrouds . Since then, my turbo coupe has now lasted 2 months without any problems. My first thought if you were putting this kit on a CVT would be to make sure you keep the transmission, and engine bay as cool as possible. Heat is the failing point of this kind of setup. Good luck!
