i don't have photoshop so i did it the ghetto way with paint lol could someone do a photo shop with another color? (preferably dark slate but any color besides black would work). theres the 2 chrome pieces i covered black in this pic but i was wondering how it would look if i had a shop put a piece in between the 2 chrome pieces and paint the whole thing dark slate so theres no little gap in between where the 2 chrome pieces go. anyone know what i'm talking about?

sorta looks like a Nissan Skyline 350GT (AKA G35) with the chrome covered and if it had smoked lights.... it also sorta looks like the 05-06 altimas

It does a little bit.

I'm sick of the Altima Coupe Grill and bumper, but the aftermarkets ones are quite worst. Stillen looks nice but I'm looking for something discreet, sexy, and classy.

Will there be more options in the future? :p

I always pictured the Aston Martin DP9's front for the A/C, but or a front like the G35/7. Or maybe have the Nissan Symbol on the hood of the vehicle like the 350z with a well designed grill.

Painting the chrome is nice though.

you mean kind of like this?

this is a body kit for the Nissan Skyline 350GT (AKA G35 coupe)... it looks nice but a little off to me... sorta like theres a gap by the hood.

it is ok to just tape and spray instead of having to remove the bumper? umm... It's prolly a pain to pain the honeycomb huh... I have a silver coupe But if i spray the whole thing to be silver it might look weird so maybe i'll paint the mustache and spray the honeycomb black to match the lower piece? wat u guys suggest?

ya i'm thinking about painting the honey comb black and the mustache dark slate BUT i'm wondering if i could close that little gap in between the chrome pieces. like, theres 2 chrome pieces and a gap in the middle (right under the Nissan sign) and i'm thinking about talking to a shop and see if they could sorta connect the 2 chrome pieces and paint it dark slate.... anyone know what i'm talking about? sorta like on the black one i put a straight line of black across.

sorta. the maxima connects but it still sorta dips down a little. i'd like for it to just go straight across without dipping down or anything

this is what i was talking about (makes more since with a pic of a non-black car).

here is a pic of "dangeris" car

and heres a pic of my "paint" skills since i don't have photoshop lol

i know it's not the best pic and someone with photoshop could do better but do you guys sorta see what i'm talking about now? like have a shop put a piece in the middle and paint it dark slate (my car is dark slate). what do you guys/girls think about this?

Yea definitely a gap at the hood.

It was not how I pictured it. :p I saw the Nissan Emblem on the actual hood, rather than having the bumper completely stretch out. The bottom lip black, the grill with that those horizontal and vertical lines. The grill might not work at all, maybe because the A/C hood is short, unlike the actual Aston Martin.

Even then, it still very flashy. :p

I'm starting to think painting the honeycombs black will be more sexy and the bottom grill by the fogs black. It's like looking a nice empty space. As for the chrome mustache, it does look nice painted.

really? that's not bad, i think i might have to just do that. but what i'm really going for is something more like this but with the Nissan sign in the middle

see how i've been saying to try and connect the 2 chrome pieces and have it all painted to match my car. i know this is an older altima but if i can have a shop connect the 2 chome pieces and paint it dark slate, it'll sorta look like this but with the Nissan sign in the middle

I would prefer the whole grill surround to be chromed like the sedans. I prefer not to have the chrome painted, I'm not fond of that look.

I have an idea... why doesn't an aftermarket company make us a kick a$$ grille?

I agree, I don't like the painted look of the chrome mustache either. Personally, I think it makes the car look more "civicy"

for those of you painted ur mustache, did you have to remove the grill or just taping it off? according to this pic, it looked like u can get the grill separate?

I haven't taken the bumper apart yet so not sure ... maybe when i'm bored i can open up the bumper and see.... Would be great if a simple mesh can be fabbed up

This is a pic of my car. Those chrome pieces where overlayed with color matched vinyls. E-mail bluebatmobile.net for more information on them.

Basically, my car is on a lease and so I didn't want to do any major modification to the grill. Suffice to say, I'm very satisfied with the outcome.

they're using vinyl overlays to cover up the chrome pieces, it didnt look that great in person because it was the 1st prototype and they did not have the shape 100%

We haven't gotten around to it. My job keeps me very busy, I've been traveling to much to ever do anything to the car.

bluebat should have it in his gallery soon. I talked to him yesterday and I'm sure he is willing to send a set if you ask him about them.

The overlay is a one piece for each chrome piece. There is one relief cut which I believe you are reffering to. Since this was the installers first time, the relief cut is really noticeable when actually looking at it. Of course, this could be cleaned up to where the relief cut is not as noticeable.

hey guys u can try and make your own grill you know. get a mesh from home depot ( it kinda looks like the mesh they use for the S5 grill on the older altima models ) lay it out flat cut a good amount.. then spray a clear coat over it wait 4 it 2 dry..then jus spray paint it black make sure its spraypaint that you use for metal aluminum etc.. get some heavy duty glue and your done... (btw the metal from home depot bends so it should be easy 2 do mine is in the garage im just waiting for good weather 2 come around so i can put it on the bottom of the stillen fascia or i might just get an intercooler im still debating
