What size of tires you lookin for? I've got a whole shop full of new and used tires. If I have the right size I could give you a smoking deal on some .

I love the truck. My grandfather bought one used when he was younger and he still has it I still see it driving around sometimes.

How many miles does the beast have on it anyway?

Edit- Oops, didn't see the post with the miles. That is very low miles for how old it is, you aught to be able to get a few hundred thousand more

I was just thinking about this thread the other day. Thanks for updating it and those wheels are awesome. You just need some power to apply to those wide wheels!

Oh yeah, and "Mothers" polish works great to clean up old wheels. I use it on all of the wheels here in my shop and haven't found anything to beat it yet

Well that depends...if its a flat black...maybe...but I think (if the color of the truck is staying as it is, which it should IMHO) I'd go with the dark Grey.

The contrast of light and dark Grey would look tits compared to going straight from light Grey to Black.

Did someone say fender flares? Wheels look good man, can't wait to get them on the truck. You're definitely gonna need some flares though I'm thinking with those monsters.

I'll definitely be in touch come spring. I'm thinking some 245/50/15's. Obviously would want used to save some coin.

Brought the truck (and Steph's kouki s14) out of storage this week.

Got it up on a lift at work today for the first time. The frame rails and everything were much better than I expected. Did some ghetto cleaning with a few cans of brake parts cleaner underneath.

Tossed on some nice free tires (used from work). Two Goodyear Assurance's in the front with 6-7/32" tread and two no-name Warrior Medalist tires in the rear with 11/32" tread. Nothing great but they're head and shoulders above the ancient dry rotted Yokohama Aegis tires with 2/32" tread.

Snapped a couple quick pictures of the truck in the parking lot.

The rockers look horrible. Can't wait to cut the rusty ones off and get the new old stock ones that I sourced welded up. I'll bring them home and snap pictures eventually. Also got my hands on these for the truck....will look good out on the fenders

Speaking of stuff that I've sourced, I found an old set of Datsun fender flares that I'm picking up for the truck. Also, I bought these Going to put some trumpets on them...air cleaners are weak. Mmm sidedraft goodness.

I did manage to blow out an ancient coolant hose though, so it looks like I'll be replacing those after work tomorrow.

Tossed on the sidedrafts yesterday. Still need to get the linkage operational and put the finishing touches on and then toss on some velocity stacks but here's a couple pics.

Then today I did some paint work on the grill and headlamp bezels for my truck. I picked them up used but they are far cleaner than what is on my truck and after some polishing and paint work they look really good IMO. Nothing wrong with reconditioning solid old parts Upon removing the old stuff I was able to get most of the old rusty retaining screws out but I'll need to drill others out. Should look good when finished with this.

After paint/polishing

Compared to the badly bent old one. The one that was on the truck was also seperated from the mounting bracket on one end.

The old headlamp bezels....you can only polish a turd so much lol

Compared with the "new" reconditioned ones

Faceless truck!

Ok, truck has been on the back burner for a couple months because I've been uber busy. But I cleaned it up today, tossed on the refinished headlight bezels and grill. Replaced the broken fender emblem, inserted some stud retaining clips, and installed the new hood emblem that I sourced. Also I managed to find some wiper refills to install in the original stainless wiper housings so I can have the correct wipers on the vehicle.

Next up.....toss on the fender mirrors and get that carb linkage fabbed up so I can have it ready for the local Car Kulture RatRod show in about a month.

Can't wait to start driving this thing again
