I must say, she is a real beautiful pickup. I love the fender mirrors and the fender flares. She looks mean.

The old tonneau cover was ancient and had been rotting away since I got the truck, well it finally got bad enough I needed to pull it off. I plan to coat the inside of the bed and then make a new cover. So as always, I snapped some pics.

First time I've had the cover off since owning it....doesn't look too bad

Look at this nastiness....yeah that's mold haha

My fuel tank

Then a couple night time pics

Did some work today on the day off....

Prep to refinish the bed

Wasn't really feeling the shiny aluminum look of the rear bumper so I sprayed it a satin grey

New hood pins

Turned out nice IMO

And since my 521 is pretty rat, I decided to get creative. Not bad for a piece of construction paper and an Xacto knife huh?

As for the paint job on the doors, I was going for the old hotrod shop feel but in a rat theme, thus Ratsun (like the old datto forum) and then I added NSR cause that's me and Yokohama Japan since that's where the truck was built. So.....what do you think?

I like. Gives it the work truck feel. Throwback to the build city is sweet.

I'd say you did a fantastic job with that graphic. Way better than the sh*thead Racing graphic I made from a BEWARE OF DOG plastic sign, a razorblade, a 12 pack of miller light and a beer bong.

Had my truck out to a big annual ratrod show over the weekend and it was a hit, couldn't believe all the attention the datto got Anyway, yesterday I decided to go through an old industrial area and snap a few pics of it for everybody

They are indeed turbine wheels but they came off of an old lifted blazer with mud tires on it.

My friend told me there was no titles for these trucks. Is that true? and if so, how were you able to get it registered?

You're welcome! As for updates, I haven't done much to it recently. I'll probably work on it a little more before putting it away for winter so check back

Your friend is incorrect. All vehicles came with titles when purchased. If a title is lost by a previous owner or seller it is a royal PITA to get a new one and it can be a lengthy and expensive project from your respective state.

Thank you very much, I was highly doubting that these little beasts had no titles. I think I might pick one up from the junkyard and save it. whether it has a title or not.

Put the truck away for winter tonight. Only things that have changed are a new battery for it that isn't so gigantic haha.

Also, measured the wheels this morning as I get a lot of offset questions. They are -64. Pretty hardcore for a little Datsun huh?

I'll update with anything I pick up for it over the winter.
