Why mikuni's? It has dual SU's.....no 521 I know of has dual carbs like Jerry's.

Did some paint work on the turbine wheels. Decided on flat black (its still wet in the picture) and the machined lip.

There's overspray on the lip that I'll need to take some steel wool to and then hit it real quick with some polishing compound. Should look sweet though.

Flares should arrive today btw.

Will post pics of how it looks with the drop blocks installed as I'm putting them on this evening.

How do you plan to lower the front? Why didn't you tape off that lip if you didn't intend to paint it?

Already lowered the front 3" by indexing the torsion bars, can go much lower if I can with the new wheel/tire combo.

As for the lip, it was a last minute decision to spray the wheels and we didn't have any tape. No big deal as I want to polish up the lip anyway. Only 15 minutes of work or so.

Update from yesterday

They're huge!

Doesn't hit anything, will be tight with tires though. Going to stretch 225/50/15's on it

New Datsun steering wheel in place

Got these yesterday as well....ZG flares for an s30. Fit up surprisingly well

Test fitted up the s30 flares on the truck today. They fit much better than I expected. The front will require a little modifcation and the rears will require little to no modification to fit. I'm picking up a fender roller sunday to flatten out the lips of the stock fenders and shape them to fit the flares.

Here's a couple pics, don't mind the duct tape, I just put them on to get an idea of what was in store...

Decided after seeing how the flares fit up that I needed to fab up some weatherstripping/trim to go between the flares and the body not only to give it a cleaner look but to take up some of the irregularities between the body and the flares.

So I went to home depot and bought some garage door rubber weatherstripping (which only set me back like $10) and got to working on modifying it...

After cutting it to size I used some 3M spray adhesive which I applied with a Q-tip and then used mini c-clamps to hold it in place for a minute or so until the adhesive cured. Turned out awesome IMO.

Also, stopped and picked up some stainless allen head hardware for putting the flares on

I love it jerry, my only dis-like on that whole truck may be that rear bumper, something just does'nt seem right about it.

btw we have 3m spray glue at my work, and we sometimes spray bugs that fly through the shope and light them on fire and watch them go nuts, it sucks getting that sprayed on your arms also

That thing is tits except for that rear bumper. That should be your next piece of that project. Otherwise,

Yeah I'm on the fence about the rear bumper as well. It looked awesome when the truck was stock cause it fit the old truck well. Now that its lowered and flared and such it doesn't flow as well. I'm thinking of either doing flat black so it matches the wheels and flares and bed cover like this....

or maybe try to locate a set of factory rear bumperettes. We'll see
