This has to be the best news I have heard in at least 2 weeks! I am glad she pulled through this like she did and Stacey, I can't wait to meet you at Nopi 2006! Oh, and for what its worth, I picked up one of those yellow bracelets at Nopi from the NICO booth..I had one before but I quit wearing it for one reason or another.. but this one hasnt come off since I put it on in Atlanta.. Not sure how long I will wear it, but everytime I see this one I think of you guys and how great it is that you have kicked that cancers *** like you have! I wish your whole family the best of luck, and you will still be in my thoughts and prayers...Theres no way it will come back.. LiveStrong Stacey, Greg, and the NicoTots....and thanks for that update, I was about to ask for another one!

You guys are great!Mav

Wow, this is one old thread....

Well, lessee. After the first round of chemo, everything looked OK for a time. Stacey had a 6-month break, to allow her to recover from the chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, her cancer count rebounded VERY fast, putting her right back where she was pre-treatment.

The doctor indicated that the tumors on her liver have reduced, but that the cancer has metastasized (spread) to the bone, primarily in her hip joints and a couple places in her back.

So, she returned to the normal course of chemo. That lasted about 6 weeks, but her platelets and white blood counts were getting too low to continue on that course of treatment.

Now she's on a different treatment - It's an even more aggressive course, which unfortunately is accompanied by more of the typical chemo side effects.

It's been a rough several months, as she has days where you'd never know she's sick, and days where she's barely able to get out of bed.

The good news is, she's still here despite the doctor's initial prognosis, and she's maintaning a kick-butt mindset.

Sorry to let you guys down - Looks like it'll be a longer battle than we thought, but we're entrenched and well-equipped for whupping this thing.

Pop in on her Z profile and say "what's up" if ya want.

Thanks Dan / Ben & the rest of ya.

Everyone needs to send good thoughts Stacy's way, wether it be prayers for those who are religious, or feelings of good will from those who are not. She needs the power of Nico to help her, it is the least we can do. Stacy is a wonderful person and she is in my thoughts and prayers.

Thx Morrie.

She's bound and determined to go to Atlanta, so she'll be there. I'm hoping she's having a "good" weekend so she can enjoy the trip.

Wow this is news to me!! Now that I look I see that this happened 3 months after I became a member and I was in Iraq for the 3rd time as well.

Sorry to hear of this but if she has come this far then she will pull thru. My mom died of ovarian cancer like 10 years ago so I feel ya man.

Good luck Greg and Stacy and know that NICO is pulling for ya.

With 45,000 prayers I'm sure god will hear and heed!!

I've always had this idea in my head that if you put your mind to something, no matter what it is, if you really want it you can get it.

For me this includes illness. I've often wondered if the reason people die of these things is that they have given up in one way or another.

And then those that beat it, are those the ones that really fought it?

Or is it neither, and God really does role dice?

I don't really believe in luck though.

Keep fighting stacy

Best wishes to both of you, if anyone can kick this thing's *** it's the two of you.

Looking forward to seeing you both at VIR.

I was really happy to hear the good news last year when this thread started to die out. Everything seemed looking good, so I"m very disheartened to hear about her setbacks.

I pray that she gets some sort of miracle and that she pulls though this.

Cancer is the worst demon that most people will ever have to fight and Stacey seems to be one of those people who is here to kick *** and take names with cancer.

She is far to young to be dealing with this crap. Get well Stacey!!
