That's awesome news. Stay strong and work towards living a healthy life. I think often these situations are due to being a strong person who has lived a relatively healthy lifestyle, and who has a solid will to fight. Not to mention being surrounded by many caring individuals, such as your husband, your family, and friends.

Looking forward to meeting both you and Greg at NOPI. I'll be doing my best to divert the attention of the NICO models away from our fearless leader. You can help me, Mr1der.

Congrats and KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

John

Hate to break it to ya but god lost a few hands in last years p0ker tourney. I rang up a good debt on ol' boy and he didn't have anything to repay me with.

So after I got around to some ahem, personal enhancement, I had him do a few things for me.

So far me checklist is bueno.

- Red Sox Winning World Series- Smoking Monkeys- Replacing George W. Bush's Brain with a 5-Yr. Old Chimp's (aptly named... Bimbo the Chimp)

Makin you guys better was cake compared to makin the Sox win the Series.

Rock on!

If anyone wants proof that prayer, or mind over matter (depends on how you look at it) works, this is it.

Let's keep Stacey in our thoughts and ensure that the cancer completely goes away.

Greg, you better get out of the hospital soon.

^ It's amazing.

She needs to hurry up and "pop in" and tell us what the doc said! (Although by your post we are pretty sure what it is)

Also are you all going to be at NOPI in Bristol, TN or just ATL? Someone needs to start a NOPI thread!! I am debating on whether to just go to ATL or to both.

As the club, we are only planning on the NOPI Nationals in Atlanta. However, I'm sure you can get some local NICO people to go.

Check our calendar by clicking on it (next to the register button). We have all the NDRA races listed on it, as well as other racing series.

Start a thread in your regional forum about getting people to go, I'm sure people will go with you.

Another quick update:

Yesterday, Stacey went in to get the results of some tests that were done Tuesday... They took some blood tests, did a scan and some X-rays.

As you guys know, her cancer markers early on (April) were up in the 2000 range. That's ridiculously high and basically means "the needle is pegged".

People die of cancer LONG before they ever see 4-digit numbers.

After surgery, her markers had gotten down to 129, and at last count was at 27. Still terrifyingly high, as normal is zero to 5, and anything over 8 indicates aggressively-growing cancer cells.

So she's halfway through a 6-month, incredibly intensive chemo regimen.

Yesterday's number?

8.5 (yes, eight and a half).

This basically means that in just 3 short months, she has gone from having a pretty dismal prognosis (i.e. a matter of months to live) to entering remission.

I can't express how exciting this news is to us, and how happy we are to share it with you guys. You've all been awesome to us, and I credit your prayers, encouragement and positive thoughts with her apparent healing.

At this point, she's got to finish out the remaining course of treatment. However, her oncologist says that if she dips below 8 or so, they will give her a "vacation" from treatment for a while and see if she remains in remission.

Thank you all for your prayers. There's no other way to explain her progress.

NICOmom sends her love.
